We can (and have) refused advertisers. And there’ve been a couple that I felt a little iffy about that we received zero complaints about, so maybe I’m a bit more harsh about that stuff than most other people are. Still, better safe than sorry.

What do you think are the companies that Jeff felt iffy about but still accepted as sponsors?

I thought the recent one for a comedy podcast or something was pretty bad. It was the only one that I could remember being a straight ad read too.

Idle Thumbs have pigeonholed themselves into being really earnest and serious and enthusiastic about the products of their advertisers, so those are actually fucking hilarious. :lol

I finally started skipping them when it got to the point of 4 an episode or something like that. Without Vinny they're just not as funny and how much they're breaking up the episodes has just gotten to the point where I'd rather skip them and get back to the conversation more.

I haven't gone through the trouble of setting the feed up yet. I had issues getting the premium podcasts on pocket casts, so I just haven't tried with the regular bombcast yet.

It's just a matter of figuring out if your podcast app will let you enter a feed link manually and let you key in a username and password on said manual podcast link.

it should be this:

http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@auth.giantbomb.com/podcast-xml/premium/

and if that doesn't work, try https

I used to listen to their ad reads but it seems like they're 5 minutes a piece these days and I can't take it anymore. it's too long, they need to get back to talking about far cry 2 and stop it with the long discussions of accounting uncles and new mattresses.

Ever since the Elite Dangerous QL a few months ago, I've been sucked into a dark place. I bought the game, then a HOTAS, then VoiceAttack (a pretty awesome voice command application), and finally, to my surprise, I caved on TrackIR. I have now spent a ridiculous amount of time with that game.
