Giant Bomb down?

I wasn't either before watching the Endurance Run. I completely ignored the videos for the first 40-50 episodes but I watched one after they were talking about it during a bombcast and it completely sucked me in. I usually just listen while working and it really helped make the work day more enjoyable.

Yeah, I'm guessing you have an ipod touch. I would probably do the same if i had one. I watched some episodes but it was more like I'm going to watch this because of whos doing it, not that I'm interested in the game. I think its a great idea though and cannot wait for the next ED.

Duder, it's over. ;_;

Sad day. End of an era, and a damn good timewaster at work each morning.

Since the idea was to have new daily content when they came up with the Endurance Run, I hope a new one of some kind starts off soon. I really want Ryan to follow through with his desire to do a Shenmue ER.

i'm pretty sure they said there wouldn't be a new endurance run for a while, probably not until the right game came along :(

if they do something else that gives more long ass content in the meantime thats great but otherwise :( cool to just stick it on while you're doing something boring

Hopefully in the mean time they fill their daily vid quota with retro quick looks. I WAS TEASED OF A VID RIBBON QL, WHERE IS IT?!

I agree. I've never seen Vib Ribbon and I'm REALLY curious. YOU HEAR ME MONSTERDUNK/RUDDS/NACHOBOSS/VINNY'S NONEXISTENT GAF ACCOUNT?! >:|

They should just wait to do another Endurance Run until FFXIII comes out. They'll never play it on their own, and the review will probably get pushed onto Brad.

I think Square Enix would put a stop to that. I'm surprised Atlus didn't stop them considering the game was still relatively new.

The first reason that comes to my mind is the game is very much story driven and I'd imagine there would be some people willing to just watch the game being played rather than buy it.

Well the internet will be full of playthroughs anyway so might as well promote the game with an excellent commentary instead a shitty one.

Because Atlus is smart. I think they fully get the fact that there are very few people who hadn't picked up the game in the two months it had been on shelves that were likely to be interested in the game. The Endurance Run was pretty much free publicity of the best kind - it cost nothing, showed off every portion and all the best parts of the game, and the guys playing it were genuinely excited and happy to be playing it. All you have to do is read the Giant Bomb boards to see that the ER sold a good deal of copies of P4 that would have sat on shelves. Hell, I'd be a liar if I said that the ER wasn't the thing that got me to finally pull that unplayed copy of Persona 3 I've had since it came out off the shelves and throw it in my PS3 (well, technically I left it on my shelf and played Fes instead, but you get the idea).

I would be all for it. I just have this impression that Square Enix wouldn't be as cool about it as Atlus was. I remember them jokingly thanking an Atlus employee for not sicking their lawyers on them.

Oh I'm well aware of that. I actually bought and played through P4 because of the Endurance Run.

The Endurance Run is 100% of the reason that I picked up P4 and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I couldn't stand P3 (no controllable party = ARGH) and never would've even considered playing P4 had I not watched a few episodes of the Endurance Run and seen the improved battle system.

I'm glad I did, because I now have a new favorite Ps2 game.

You and me both, brothers. Also favorite RPG of all time, case you couldn't guess by the avatar. :D

Oh yeah, I forgot that I've seen you post sometimes on GB, Felix.

So they really beat the game today? It's been fun so I'm kinda sad to see the ER end. I at least hope the true final boss is better than the pseudo-final one(s) they fought like last week which were kinda underwhelming. Oh well, will watch when I get home tonight.

Alright, that was pretty cool. Dumb question: does it net you a Game Over if someone in your party doesn't have a maxed-out Social Link and the final boss does what he did at the end?
