Giant Bomb E3 2012

Thanks, I missed it just skimming..

I tried opening it with VLC but I'm getting this error...

No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

EDIT - And that's probably why, the files I downloaded are only 4KB big, they seem to be gone from the server. Lame.

You can stream it still here:

Just click on the Day 0 ones.

So, uh, was Pachter invited for tonight's GB thing? :P

Unfortunately, yes (although IE has at least made some improvements lately).
Oh wow. :O

I guess people will find some use in it if they're going to treat their Xbox like a All-in-One device.

started listening to the day zero show. It’s good hearing Brad Muir be honest about that kind of creative insecurity that may come around with an IP moving to a new dev.

I would play a From Software Trenched.

I think tonights podcast is going to be even more depressing than yesterdays judging by their twitter feeds.
Yep.

Um they dont like Nintendo games anyway so why would they be blown away by anything they would have shown. If they showed a new Zelda with stunning everything they still would have said great for Nintendo fans but not us.

I think they are disappointed at E3 at whole in general.

When did you come to the conclusion that they don't like Nintendo games?

I'm listening to the day 0 podcast and Patchter seems fine. He needs to stop complaining about 'neogaf', whatever that means, but his thoughts are interesting.

I haven't considered the Xbox 720 becoming the cable box subsidized by Comcast, but I'm not sure how that would benefit Comcast unless Microsoft pays them a lot of money or the consoles/appletv/roku boxes cause the amount of cable subscribers to really drop

They would have had to discuss it though. As it is they have pretty much nothing to discuss except how bad it was and how little there is to discuss.

The silly thing is why would you bother with a cable company if you are paying for Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, Netflix, the MLB Package, or whatever else you're subscribed to?

Cable companies are basically ISPs first now, and the only thing they can do is limit the bandwidth you're allowed to use per month.

Who are they trying to fool? They weren't going to be happy with Nintendo's conference no matter what they showed.

Do you think Nintendo had a good showing? Especially considering they are launching a new console this year?

Well I think the idea is not that Microsoft would approach Comcast, Comcast would approach Microsoft because they could sell the 720 for very cheap (like $50) and have people pay $10 more per month to have their cable run through it

Think of it like the iPhone and phone companies

edit: About why someone would bother to still have a cable subscription, the main reason is sports, basically the only thing that you want to watch live. Another reason could be households that don't all consume content that way (kids, girlfriend, wife, parents, whoever). Basically the only thing I watch on TV is sports haha

I mean they could have shown Zelda, Smash, Starfox/Metroid/Kart crossover, and Ice Climbers and still Jeff would have been disappointed...

Unless he got another Rhythm Heaven.

Yeah that was just weird and dumb.

All these podcasts are going to take forever to consume.

Also, it's nice to see some ads on the website. Though, it's kinda hilarious that it's Civ 5... because I always think of GB when I think "PC gaming".

I don't know if I can listen to their predictions now after the conferences

They were probably so full of hopes and dreams... It will just remind me of where we are now

If we got a Rhythm Heaven for the WiiU it would probably play like the DS one, to show off the touch screen capabilities. I don't think I'd like that... lol.
