Giant Bomb E3 2012

Pachter is obsessed with Smart phones and probably gets paid to get people to buy Apple stock. Thus he hates Nintendo and NEOGaf because we know his bullshit

"In 2 years from this E3 microsoft is going to talk about how you're going to use SmartGlass to use to turn on your tv through your cable box which will be call the Xbox 720."

or something similar

Stream keeps pausing for a second and it's annoying as hell

Did... he say this is happening in two years?

He literally thinks cable companies are going to be on board with this in two years? Because they have been so quick to adapt to and accept the changing media distribution models, right?

I am proud now. I am the first person who called him out on that Nintendo THQ thing. Suck it Pachter!

Nintendo lost money for the first time ever and its suddenly on the scale of THQ?

Really fucking really?

Currently, yes, that's accurate. He just explained his reasoning too, which made perfect sense for an investment analyst. I'm sorry for you if that hurts your feelings.

Pachter seems like the Skip Bayless of videogames. He just says things that will get a reaction.

Forcing me to sign a contract with a cable company to get a xbox is a sure way for me to never play consoles again.

So you'll pay full price for the xbox, just as I can go buy a cable box for 2-500 bucks

Or I don't have a cell phone on contract with a subsidy, I bought one somewhere else

I think we can all predict that it's unlikely for Wii U and 3DS to sell as much as their predecessors... And yeah, that probably looks bad in a world where financial success is based upon growth.. But that casual market was created in friggin 2005-6. It's not Nintendo's traditional bread n butter.

They have a long way to shrink before going multiplatform makes any kind of sense.

I think they have ideas for other customers : Nintendo might have made a bundle off casuals, but it is not their only claim to fortune, by a longshot.

And who knows.. Cheap livingroom tablet may prove to be a casual hit. After all, no analyst could have predicted Wiis success..
