Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

I hope so @_@

If it's just random shit you find, that's fine. If it's 'Take the master sword to the master smith half way across the map!' then that game is on my shitlist.

This game is taking lots of cues from Wind Waker. Even the stealth mechanics were in Wind Waker(hopefully this game has better stealth). So I wouldn't be surprised if the quest to get the master sword is a long one, and then once you finally get it, it has infinite durability. Same with dungeon items. It wouldn't make sense and would degrade the cool feeling of exploring dungeons and getting items if those dungeon items break over time. I'm willing to take this bet.

Whenever Nintendo shows a game, I feel like people's gaming expectations regress 10 years.

"there's loot!?"
"Oh you can climb?"
"you can turn an apple into a baked apple?!?"
"Crafting??? Fuuuuck"

One hell of a handicap

It's not just that. This type of game they're showing today is all I've wanted from Zelda ever since seeing this type of art for the original Zelda NES/SNES games:

It took us nearly 3 decades to get here so for some of us this is a special moment. It's not about whether or not you can compare this to Skyrim or Dragon Age. Those games are not Zelda and will never be Zelda, especially when it comes to certain mechanics(like smooth combat and intricate dungeons) and charm.

off topic of Zelda for a bit:

Looking at the PSN Store and seeing E3 deals. Need for Speed Rivals PS4 is $6. Was that any good?
To me it's more a matter of time than money. I don't think it's really worth the time investment. Honestly something like the Crew is a better way to spend your time.

So what time are they coming back for their reactions? The schedule for me is saying in an hour lol, but it's obviously going to be after that.

The game’s wild world surrounds Link, and he must pay attention to changes in climate, as a shift in weather or temperature can affect the environment and his ability to survive in it. A sudden downpour might douse a roaring campfire or a lightning storm might be attracted to Link’s metallic weapons. Players might need to bundle up with warmer clothes or change into something better suited to the desert heat.

More than 100 Shrines of Trials dot the landscape, waiting for players to discover and explore them in any order they want. As players work their way through the traps and puzzles inside, they’ll earn special items and other rewards that will help them on their adventure. Puzzles in the game often have multiple answers, and secrets can be found everywhere. Exploration and discovery are a huge part of the fun.

Is there going to be an eshop sale in na this week? I saw there was one last week in the UK for this game I am about to buy.

Yes, Shrine Trials. I wonder how bad the pop in will get when you travel from high distances.

Also these Treehouse girls are cute. I hate to be that guy, but they are.

Small dungeons is exactly what I want. I want to be able to explore meaningful content throughout the world a la Wind Waker islands (the more substantial small ones). It's what i loved about Skyrim and Oblivion. Just finding small cracks and caves and exploring. But the problem with the Bethesda games is level design in the caves and the variety of design (homogeneity of most of the non Dwarven caves).

I'm in.

I am all about meaningful exploration.

I wonder if there are skulltulas in the game. It's gonna take forever to find those fuckers (and just get a giant ruppie for your hard work at the end).

Twitch chat behaving as expected.

There was a guy at the Sony conference simulcast last night wearing an "oppai" shirt. I don't understand people.

If you`re wearing something like that in public I have to assume you don`t really interact with people all that much. And yeah, should`ve made the Twitch chat subscriber only like GB always does. They`ve turned off YT chat, why not Twitch chat too. Chat when there`s women on screen will always be toxic, and add to that all the hate Treehouse has gotten from reactionary assholes this last year and you`ve got a really bad stew going.

Was that any good? Bought it but never played it. Loved the first one, but never heard much about 2.

Game has 4 acts

Act 1: Fucking fantastic Zelda level shit
Act 2: Similar to act 1 but not as good
Act 3: Fucking abysmal bullshit
Act 4: A bit more similar to 1 and 2 but nothing incredible and super short.

But man... That Act 1 is so cool
