Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

He's doing the thing again. That feedback is still coming, Phil! :D

Edit: oh ho ho! Intriguing info drop!

There is difference with enforced restrictions and restrictions because the platform hasn't completely matured yet.

Microsoft isn't purposely going out of their way for you to not have g-sync but they are working on implementing it.

These posts never help MS' look like their thought they do.

4K60 can absolutely happen with 6 teraflops. Remember that graphical options are a thing.

The 290X has 5.6 TFLOPS. And let's not forget that the CPU used in this benchmark will probably end up being vastly more powerful than anything Scorpio uses.

So worse graphics than what we got now at 4K then. It's a waste if they're serious about it. This 4K stuff is nothing more than marketingspeak to me.

Don't normally watch this sort of stuff but this is a great interview, could never imagine anyone from Nintendo being this frank lol.

it sort of depends on whether or not you have good answers to the questions being asked, Xbox was super defensive and frustratingly vague during the XBONE launch, but they can actually answer questions now.

Sort of like how Oculus was super open and frank during their initial days, while Palmer just looks awkward and impatient now.

I'm not sure if Witcher is a great example. It's an unoptimised hog that struggles to do 1080p60 for me. I used GTA 5 as an example because it's a very well-made huge open world game.

You cannot compare what Microsoft is working on to consumer cards running games never specifically optimized for.

Look at what Forza Horizon 3 is doing on what is equivalent to what is now a $80 or something GPU?

All the same, Phil, I think I'll avoid the Windows 10 store until you've absolutely proven your pc games release WAY better than Quantum Break.

In short, the answer about puting more games on Steam is "Maybe"?. I just heard the last part of the answer.
More or less, he's saying that they need to put first party games on their store to grow it and learn how to do stuff on their own. He then added that there's no policy against ever putting the big games on steam.

The answer was more or less "If our own store doesn't prove successful then we'll probably release on Steam."

I think that's a fair way to approach that. I support the idea of multiple storefronts in theory, I just think the current iteration of the Windows Store is bad

Basically.

jeff asked about the core first party titles like gears, halo, etc. not titles like age of empires or ori. he clearly means the latter.

AOE and Ori sold a fuckton of copies, so going forward i expect them to get much bigger investments and then we'll see if it does come out on Steam. He said they will launch 'more stuff on steam', we don't know what that means, right now it's all conjecture.

The State of Decay 2 guy here on GAF didn't deny a steam version, and that is getting a much bigger investment, so, yeah, we'll see.

God I love E3 After Hours stuff from GB.

My favorite interviews/fun of the year for videogames.
Definitely agree. Best part of E3 next to the conferences (and Nintendo Treehouse). The interviews seem to real and different than all the rest. All the guests come off as genuine and relaxed while having a good time.
