Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

I was hoping for more on Overland, because honestly, the game looks awesome.

I think that Jeff and Steve are like in on a joke, that no one else gets.

Shame, but hopefully they get more comfortable doing these things.

You can't expect everyone to be Dave Lang or Boyes, but in the least them rolling up got me to check out the game and sign up for their email.

Time to get energized.

Those two were just nervous and shy, and seemed to think what most others were. I feel for them. Wish things went a bit differently and they got more comfortable but hey.

Steve should have been at the other end of the couch. It would have made the other two guests feel more included in the conversation. The way it was arranged, it just ended up being Jeff and Steve having a private conversation.

That was an awkward segment

Just weird

The people from Finji probably thought it would be a regular interview and not have this kind of talk show feel to it

I bought Overland when the first batch of keys went out (the designer for Canabalt is also working on it, so I had been following it for a while.) still need to play it though...

That wasn't bad and I still enjoyed it, but I think having Steve there wasn't helping. Having someone else Jeff wasn't as familiar with probably would have kept the conversation bouncing around more. Maybe having two people for Overland wasn't the best idea either, but it seemed to make them more comfortable, so I guess that much worked?

I just wished they had been a little more expensive in talking about the game. They seemed reticent to talk about it like they couldn't say much which is weird. It wasnt that bad though just a bit light.

Wow that was painful. Woman in the middle wanted no part of it and actually said "This is a failure". Oh well, guess you can't win all of them.

So when Jeff asked the middle lady about their game and she could barely stutter out a PR description, or when he lobbed the softest of softballs up "What have you seen at the show?" and they literally stared at each other blankly, how could that have been salvaged?

Really, I wonder if they had any normal interactions before being put on camera....where were the alarm bells? They just froze on camera and utterly shut down.

If they only invited guests they knew would be 100% comfortable, they'd be doing a shit job, frankly.

Having a few segments with new people who aren't comfortable with this kind of thing is precisely what we should be hoping for. Maybe we'll see Heather and Jocelyn back next year feeling a bit more loose.

And, hey, maybe they were perfectly comfortable this time around, and they're just not the type to engage with Jeff & co in the same way that some other regulars do. I certainly know I'd be quiet around them.
