Yup, great news. Hopefully Sony or MS comes to the rescue and buys them up. Would be a good win for MS to get Hitman to themselves.

That seems like a pretty bad idea to me (particularly as I'm playing on PS4, hah). "Thanks for buying season 1, but we're not selling season 2 on this console!" seems like an easy way to burn a lot of good will very fast.

Don't worry Phil Spencer is not a fan of console exclusives, he said so himself.

catching up on last night

this VR talk from the 3rd panel is super interesting. all three of those women are the types of people that need to be dictating the direction the games industry goes in. they get it.

Last night I fell asleep in the shadow of war talk and then was woke up by the Megaphone madness of Lang, Boyes and Johnny. was super confused when half asleep lol

Just catching up now. Solid day of interviews and the final segment is utter chaos as usual, I love it.

Great news about IOI, glad it worked out for them. Bring on season 2!

I thought the VR part was boring but once they started just talking about the troubles of running a business in general I was interested.

I need to make the 900 number my alarm.

Props to GB for another great E3. The nightly show in particular is really humming now, good variety of panels from serious to silly and Jeff is in his element as host throughout. Couple of segments where they could have thrown another person or two in but I get there's cancellations and intimate chats are always welcome.

Can see it only getting more illustrious in the future, bringing a handful of celebs that are completely down into the fold is an exciting development. A worthy shit show from old friends to close out the proceedings as well. No matter how substantial the show itself ends up being, Giant Bomb's live coverage is consistently the highlight.

The reactions to all of the shows were hilarious, especially stuff like Reggie's attempt at philosophy and the insanity that was Super Mario Odyssey.

GB's one of the reasons why I always look forward to E3.

It is! Pretty sure Death Metalist made it. Really shows how "jaded" Giant Bomb are lol
I haven't been able to follow this thread as religiously as I'd like but I feel like that type of talk was at an all-time low this year which was a pleasant surprise. Especially after last year.

I died when that "Will this poll tie?" vote ended Yes/No 247/247 last night. Chat exploded, and the mods changed the cooldown from like 120 seconds to 501 seconds.

That was fantastic.

They say Gio Corsi was supposed to be on with Drake, but his kidney stones acted up. They might have said he went to the hospital.

So it was probably going to be a Sony segment that turned into a fidget spinner segment.

This makes a lot of sense; something about it felt hastily put together. It ended up being fine, but was easily the weakest segment of the evening.

Watching the interview with Ed Boon, I'm beginning to think that neither the PS4 Pro nor the Xbox One X are ever going to live up to their potential. That there are now four hardware SKUs makes me think it'll be less likely that developers will really take advantage of either higher end model.

Yeah, but Spencer was saying it's been taking some devs mere hours to get their games running at 4K on 1X, and that most are taking less than two days. Not really the same kind of investment as porting from 360 to PS3 or even 360 to XB1. I hope they were making calls to Netherrealm today.

That may be true, but dev time is not the only factor. Someone's gotta QA the game on the new configuration.

For sure, I'm just saying it doesn't seem like as much work as it would have been last gen having to port to 360, PS3 and Wii since the PS4/Pro/XBOX 1S/1X are still operating on roughly the same architecture...or at least a lot less work than QA'ing for the thousands of potential PC builds out there, which I know Ed Boon raised as a valid concern as well.

Right--I'm not saying that there will be no differences between consoles, but that the presence of so many SKUs ensures that the differences will be minimal.
