They should make a third max payne instead

I'd play another Bloodborne tbh.

As for Dan and his half head, I wonder if they'll adjust the camera shots to make sure he's actually in frame for the next round of conferences.

They could avoid all this if they just put the fucking group shot camera at eye level.

I just hate how Demon Souls feels lost in the ether. All 3 Dark Souls games are on PC and thus live forever. Dark Souls 1 is also BC on Xbox One. Bloodbourne is current gen and will probably remain playable on future PS consoles.

I play Demons Soul on a regular basis trying to farm Pure Bladestone which is fucking impossible.

Even if the character action stuff is really good, half the game could still be QTEs and there's been such a whiplash against overuse of them that I really can't agree.

You could just take the QTEs out and put the absurd moments into cutscenes if you still needed to have that. Or just do it like Yakuza does and lightly sprinkle it into transitions between parts of the boss fights.

It'd be cool to do that Street Fighter crossover stuff again too.

Eh is it? I mean david cage still gets center stage.

You're not wrong, but I don't think they are really going for the same thing. Cage stuff is more akin to Telltale than it is to AW.

But maybe I'm overestimating the public dislike of QTEs, then. I wouldn't mind being wrong here.

It's criminal that Asura never made it to USFIV after the crossover stuff.

Since so many of you are enamoured by Janina Gavankar it might be worth noting she's a GB fan. I remember being surprised/amused when I saw Vinny confusedly tweeting with a True Blood actress.

Think Microsoft will show any interesting games today? Or will it all just be third party and sequels?

At this stage of the competition they better bring some surprises. They need to go ALL OUT.

Ah, thank god they already did.

The Telltale comparison to David Cage games is spot on and is totally the reason why he still gets play. The interesting implementation of QTEs also goes a few steps beyond what is used is every other game with them in it. I remember how radically different most of the QTEs in Heavy Rain were because they supposedly mimicked the action on screen as opposed to just hitting 'X' at the right time.

You had one job Abby.

Abby can do no wrong.

They could avoid all this if they just put the fucking group shot camera at eye level.

I wonder if the size of their room this year limits that? Idk, the space feels smaller than last year to me. for some reason.

The split shots seem to be closer to eye level: https://youtu.be/lBswiou9c68?t=10m18s

It's just the wide that is higher; probably due to the mess they have to endure in the setup. It still presents that problem of them looking down and away, though, which probably contributed to how bored they looked a couple years ago.

Edit: And yeah, for what it's worth occasionally Cage stuff does make fun use of QTEs, like the electric fence maze thing. But needing it for menial tasks like opening drawers and drinking OJ is funny at first, but stops feeling special really quickly.

Until Dawn is probably more modern and acceptable in that way; all of the QTEs were either explicit choices or making you hold completely still (which is a fantastic element that serves the horror genre).

If I don't see another Souls games for 4-5 years I'd be okay with that.
All Souls'd out. The games simply don't change enough to remain entertaining for me, I quit Bloodborne after maybe 10-15 hours

Didn't Layden say there was gonna be a big Japanese announcement or something?

That's pretty much where I'm at ever since they announced the Scorpio. Anything lower then that and it's going to be a surprise.
Let's say it is announced at $499, if Sony announces a price cut on the Pro at their conference, would the Scorpio be DOA?

I think anything higher then 399 is suicide and feel like most of the "its gonna be expensive" talk from MS executives has been a smoke screen.

399 is the price they have to hit.
I see no reason they cant hit 399 with the hardware they have already announced.

I think its gonna be 399. Also 450 and 499 skus with better HDD's or bundled pro controllers or something tho.
