Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

I didn't think that was a great presentation. Sea of Thieves was the only real standout IMO, everything else looked real nice but just felt fucking stale. Assassin's Creed, more of the same. Anthem just looks like Destiny. Nothing got me excited besides Thieves.

And they didn't make a compelling case for $499. People will look at the Pro being at least $100 cheaper (might be $150 cheaper by the holidays) and go with that if they have 4k TV's.

Good showing by MS at least the games.

But did they give me a reason to buy a Xbox One X? No not really, and I was on the fence.

That was a pretty good conference minus the annoying shill screams and that sudden E-SPORTS CUT. Xbox backward compatibility blew me away, BREAKDOWN HERE I COME. Miss that game. However, I don't think they built a solid case for getting an Xbox One X, at all. Especially when I look at what we got on PS4 just for this year alone. I'll be getting an Xbox One X day 0 though but for the average consumer, I can see why they wouldn't get one. Also, disappointed they didn't show off Crackdown 3 in a big way it was kind of NOTHING.

Now to wait for the GB archive to watch with their commentary.

Nope. I'd maybe consider buying it for Player Unkown's. But for someone who doesn't want to build a PC or spend money for a PC, I'd suggest the Xbox X for sure.

So how is it a 10/10 conference if they didn't convince you.

Also playing PUB with a controller sounds like a nightmare...

I'm really hoping that Bethesda has managed to keep an Elder Scrolls under wraps and is unveiling it today. It's been too long since Skyrim.

I feel like at this point I could sit through a 2 hour presentation with them just saying, we got a new engine, here's how this looked or animated in the old engine, here's how it works in the new engine, it's a 100 times better.

I think that would leave me extremely satisfied.

I found that conference quite underwhelming for a new hardware reveal and given the dire situation Microsoft find themselves in currently.

legit surprised they just showed off a new console but not a single new Xbox exclusive. Their studio situation is fucking dire

What? If you're talking about games that are also coming to PC they have clearly said that all their games will also be developed for PC.

That was like 2 E3's ago.

All Sony gotta do tomorrow is show TLOU2 and the new FromSoftware game and they'll once again claim best show of E3

also i wanna see some of the Dragon's Dogma remastered

Without the context of the conference being for a first party studio, I would probably give it a 7/10. Maybe 8 if I discounted the fact that several of the high profile games just don't interest me personally but others are interested.

But for Microsoft, I just don't think they really sold the Xbox One X outside of saying it was powerful. They didn't announce a single major first party exclusive during the whole conference, unless you count Forza which I don't because it's essentially a sports game.

Plus once again I don't know what's exclusive and what kind of exclusive it is and that's super frustrating.

So mediocre conference for a first party.

The whole suit looks kind of dumb. 'Demo' felt a little too phony to believe. Gave me the same feeling as the initial demo of The Division.

I want the suit to look more dumb. Gimme brighter tokusatsu-ish power armor and such instead of the dark jungle.

If Sony brings it I'm probably getting a PS4 pro at this point. They don't really have to do anything too crazy either. Show some more God of war, Spider-Man and a few new games and I'm sold. Especially since I can go buy one whenever I want.

Went from highly unlikely on getting an Xbox One to maybe if the backwards compatibility works well for the Xbox games I have.

Also, I'm disappointed with the trajectory of the Fable series. Sad to see that its a card game now.

Every single game they showed here is coming to the PC, and as someone who has shifted to playing primarily on PC, that makes me quite happy. Honestly, for me, the backward compatible stuff is the biggest selling point for an Xbox.

Yeah unless Nintendo has like a hidden F-Zero and Metroid reveal or something, Sony is easily taking it again.

Beth could be pretty awesome too.

The new Sucker Punch game is likely gonna look dope. Infamous Second Son still looks stunning.

Man, what a good conference. Forza 7 looked somehow better than I expected, Ass Creed was really great, Metro is nice, etc etc, I liked everything they showed off. $499 was the obvious price since DF's coverage, so no shocker there. I can't wait for Nov 7 :)
