Good idea... It's still like 7 hours till GB goes live. I wish I wasn't getting off my graveyard shift like 3 hours before it starts. Either wake up in the middle of sleep, or attempt to stay awake. Neither is a good solution, good thing the VODs go up pretty quick this year.

I think we could see a Bayonetta 1/2 for Switch announcement. They already did the PC port work for 1 and it wouldn't surprise me if they also did the work to get it running on a switch. Also I have gut feeling they could announce another mobile game or details on an upcoming one.
 
You know despite me grousing about the switch library I have like... 7 games bought for it?

So it's still doing alright.
 
I'm still tossing up on Thumper

I actually do want to play it, but I'm trying not to buy things I'm not going to play immediately.

Also I spent $100 on books yesterday and whippy has enabled me to maybe spend like $200 on headphones in the near future

Zelda obvs, Thumper I'm enjoying a lot. Disgaea 5 is actually great for me in short spurts (I tend to like SRPGs on portables for that reason), Shantae seems to play really well on the switch.
 
They need to get Austin in to do the new LiS episodes playthrough.

Also, has there been any news on Contradiction 2? I thought they said it was going to be a thing.

I don't even understand how it's a contest lol. I played through original P4 and I liked Chie's voice, but the delivery was awful. The new one has a better performance by far.
 
If they can't get Austin back for an Life is Strange 0.5 Playdate, I think Abby would be a good substitute (because i'm sure as shit Dan wouldn't be).
 
The reaction to FC5 was very reasonable IMO. That series does have a tone problem and can be jarring. I expect that will be something 5 gets knocked for. It doesn't personally bother me but I get why it could turn someone off. Similar to how some of the guys thought about WD2 last year even when their overall opinion was positive.

I have no clue but your post definitely didn't need to be shitty towards someone to state your personal preference.

Dan has talked at length before about how much he liked Gone Home and Firewatch so it's not like it's a stretch. He plays as wide a variety of games as nearly anyone on the staff.

Dan doesn't like any of the Tell Tale games, right? Also didn't he say that nothing about the Persona series (specifically the high school part) interested him, right? I just can't see him liking Life is Strange... And one of my favorite parts of that play through was how invested everyone got with the characters. I agree with what was said above, that Abby would likely fit in better if they decided to continue that series, since (from what little we know about her preferences) she seems more receptive to story based games.

I would actually really love for Dan to sit in on a lis playdate.

He forced people to sit down for 10 Mario parties now it's his turn.

I say this as someone who likes lis too.

I'm not being shitty, I'm just really really sure Dan wouldn't be up to a Life is Strange playdate and I'm even more sure that the GB audience for that sort of thing wouldn't really prefer him either. I'm saying this based on observing his own preferences. If you perceived what I said as an attack on him, then that's on you, bud.

I dunno, I get the sense that Dan would hate LiS. Nothing about it seems to jive with what Dan enjoys, other than maybe the "weird" aspect. He's kinda bad when confronted with stuff he doesn't care about and doesn't want to make an effort with, the Metro QL etc.

Maybe I'm way wrong and he'd really enjoy it but I dunno. I personally don't need him on a LiS or Contradiction-style playthrough.

Abby has the Nancy Drew series on her top 20. Life is Strange is spiritually like a time traveling Nancy Drew lite. Granted, I don't know if she's even played LiS.

I'm not going to touch on how you seem to have an innate sense of Dan's internal hypothetical feeling on a game that's not even released but personally I'd be much more interested in someone participating in a series they might not love than wanting whatever grouping would most jive with my own feeling on it. It's literally the appeal of the site for me. It's that concept that the beloved Persona endurance run was established on. Dan's participating in a series he had a pretty negative opinion on that's still running on the site right now.

I took a several hour nap between the ubisoft and sony conferences and so I wasn't tired enough to fall asleep so I guess I'm staying up for the rest of the day...
