Giant Bomb iPhone App on App Store NOW

Bought! And knowing the whiskey media dudes I'm sure they already have a laundry list of additions/improvements planned for it.

Dunno how much I'll actually use it, but I was more than happy enough to contribute $2 toward more awesome bombcasts and video content and badass wiki-magic and achievement wizardry on the main site.

Giant Bomb 4 eva.

I can't be the only one who noticed the dig they took at Wii games in the ad though, can I?

I hate that they're so oblivious of the Wii, and don't seem to care to try/make Nintendo contacts. Otherwise I wouldn't look any further than the Bombcast.

What was the dig?

Last week we had a video review of The Conduit and an interview with the director of Bit.Trip Core, among others, so I'm really not sure where you're coming from with the idea we ignore the Wii.

"Sell your Dreamcast, Wii, and PS2 games!"

But seriously, BEST GODDAMN COMMERCIAL EVER. Maybe even best Giantbomb video ever, which is saying something. This is why they're my favorite site/podcast/videos now.

You need to talk to the Bit. Trip. guy more, he was actually really interesting and his game(s) are excellent...

...I really need to hook my Wii back up to the television :(

I'll get mine out of the storage closet it's been in for the last year when Monster Hunter comes out.

Yeah, it was the line about selling your Dreamcast, Wii, and PS2 games.

I didn't mean to claim bias of any kind. I just find that to get in-depth analysis/rumors regarding the Wii, I have to listen to other podcasts beyond Giant Bombcast. I wouldn't otherwise.

Yeah, just because of that awesome add I will be buying the app. Shit I am one giant stingy mofo when it comes to buying apps but that shit sold me!

I can't see myself buying the app since I download all their video content to my home PC and have TVersity set up to stream all my stuff, so there's really not much use I'd get from this or any other website app.

Still, nice ad.

But you need to review all those games Nintendo released!

Oh right.

Obviously he didn't know if it requires 3.0 before he made his first statement.

By the way, I think this apps should be free.

actually, i was referring to his statements contradicting each other. all in good fun.

Yeah, just think of what you can with all that extra dollar.

A dollar doesn't matter to me, it's the principle of it. There are plenty of great free apps and $.99 apps. I have no problem paying $5 for Peggle or $10 for the MLB app, but this app should have been either free or .$99.

Yeah and the Giantbomb site should be plastered with ads.

OH WAIT

bought it, based solely on the commercial. How do I search for episodes of endurance run persona? I wanna watch from episode 1

What principle? That's is an actually useful app rather than a waste of time? That there site has no ads and they actually want a bit of money? How dare they.

If you had strong principles about over pricing, why do you even have an iphone?

I bought it and I'm happy to support the Giant Bomb website and those guys that run it but the app is awful. It's ugly as sin and the first time I tried to watch a video it got all effed up on me.

May I ask how do you do that?

Don't know if anyone saw this on the site

It looks like an older version of the app somehow made it onto Apple's webservers. Unfortunately the app will crash when trying to load more then 25 videos at a time (you can still view videos from the game pages). Also, news stories will show a broken image where the embedded videos (like the one in this story) should have appeared. Simply click that image to launch the video. An free update will go out as soon as possible so there's no reason to wait if you want Giant Bomb on your iPhone.
