Giant Bomb iPhone App on App Store NOW

Don't know if anyone saw this on the site

Good to see. I was messing around with it during my carpool home from work. I was wondering why it kept crashing every time I tried to load more videos.

I like the app a lot, already used it at lunch today, even.

People whining about the price: it's a $2 gateway to quality content, in a slick app, for your (let's say...) $200+ phone with the $70/mo service plan. You sound amazingly petty.

Got the app, good stuff.

I love the hesitation from ppl for $2. If your that broke you should definitely be out working a second job (or first) instead of browsing GAF right now.

Also, most of you spent more money within the last 24 hrs on an energy drink or a mcdouble and fries.

But...it's $2.00!!

3.0 is worth the $10. Quit your whining.

You forgot to add "IMO" to the end of your post. I've had an iPod Touch since they launched and I can't see a single feature in that is worth $10 to me and I'm not paying if I don't need it.

Right, because a single feature needs to be worth $10 to be worth it? What about dozens of features that are each worth a dollar?

I get what you meant though.

May I ask how do you do that?

I am a programmer and I wrote software that automatically downloads all the video content on many sites I enjoy.

I have plugins for GiantBomb, GameTrailers, IGN, GameSpot, and many non-gaming sites. It has an automatic delay; it does not spam or overwhelm the servers of any site. It also filters by file name so I can exclude games I don't care about (For example, I do not download any video content with a name match for NCAA). I also have a file size filter that automatically deletes old content using a maximum size and/or file count for each site.

There are plenty of easier ways than that, though :p

GAF buys the most ridiculous, overpriced shit each and every week (just look at the New Releases and Comic-Age threads!) and you're balking at paying $2 for an awesome app that supports one of the best gaming sites on the planet?

Fuck you guys. I'm buying this three times.

A dollar doesn't matter to me, it's the principle of it. There are plenty of great free apps and $.99 apps. I have no problem paying $5 for Peggle or $10 for the MLB app, but this app should have been either free or .$99.

Take a step back and reread this, man. You're bitching about a dollar. :lol

Homeless people wouldn't even bitch about a dollar.

Seeing the bitching in this thread about a $2 app has made me rethink my stance that everyone deserves to voice their opinion.

So yes, I won't contribute or be an apologist for the fuckers who want to bitch about the decline of ListenUp.

Dropped the 2 bucks mainly as a big thumbs up to the video parody. Seems to work well, news loads quickly and videos play pretty well. Two bucks is worth GB content to kill time on the shitter at work.

I was waiting all day at work so I could go home and view the commercial... it was worth it:D

Of course if I had the giantbomb app (or an iphone/touch) to use it with I wouldn't have had to wait :(

Isn't the touch getting an update soon? What will be in an updated touch?

Also, who is the guy that was the app at the very beginning?

more than likely a 3GS sans the phone, plus a slightly higher clock speed

I'm loving the app! This is going to make trips to the store much easier. :D

Hopefully now that the App is out they will drop a few reviews on iPhone games. I know some of the guys already play some iPhone games, might as well start covering them at least a little on the site.

App seems to work well; I will get much use out of this. :D

Considering that GB has provided me with hands down the best gaming podcast for just shy of 6 months (and even more if you count their days at Gamespot), I had no hesitation buying their app. I spend over 60 a month for the privilege of owning a iPhone, what the hell is $2.00.

I need to have one feature I care about before there can be dozens.

So far I am happy with the App. The database seems to work pretty well, and it'll be great to have access to their videos on days when I don't have my computer w/ me.

the commercial on their website is amazing. :lol

Bought. Even if I don't ever use it, these guys have given me hundreds of dollars worth of entertainment.

And Giantbomb (no website in general, excluding GAF) could ever get me to spend money to do something that you can already do on the Safari browser.

Wait, wait, wait. So you'd pay money for gaf, who's operators give you ZERO in the way of content, yet you baulk at 2 bucks for GB?

:lol

Shit, i'd pay 2 bucks just for that ad.

So is there any way I can buy an iPhone... without the phone part? I've got a phone and a Sprint plan already, and I'm perfectly happy with them. I want the iPhone for everything else.
