I go back and forth on Doctor Who. It intrigues me for half a season and then loses me for a year or two. Curious to see what it’s like going forward without Moffat, though. He wrote some of my favorite episodes of the Davies years but I really didn’t like him as showrunner.

I hated the series 4 finale two-parter and special (which I seem to be in the extreme minority on) but otherwise it’s one of my favorite seasons of TV, I’ve been meaning to go back and watch it again sometime.

I bought it as well. Really enjoyed the arcade mode in the demo and have never really been much of an online player.

Yeah. I loved the feeling of the arcade mode. I typically am going all over the place in sim racers, but the controls felt really good to me. Never once did I go out of control off the track.

Replaying the old Mario games on my NES/SNES Classics, I think Mario has become my favorite game franchise. I used to prefer Zelda, but I've really come to appreciate just how weird and silly and surreal the Mario games are. That has become more appealing to me than the more standard fantasy tropes of Zelda, though Zelda certainly has its share of quirkiness.

Also I love how easy Mario games are to just pick up and have at it, while still maintaining a surprising level of depth and challenge. Whereas Zelda you have to futz around with an inventory, equipment, map, etc. (though not as much as a standard RPG, thankfully.)

I still think Zelda is great, it's just interesting how tastes shift as you get older.
