I agree, but then again you can only get so enthused about a system which is lacking any real reason to get excited.
Although the We Have a Wii marathon was the same back in the Gamespot days. These guys just don't go mental the way some forum goers do.

Yeah that's what I get out of it, They don't care about dedicated handhelds, which is perfectly fine.

They're not big fans of Nintendo either. I expect the exact same reaction to the Wii U a few months from now.
I also remember people getting mad at Jeff back in the Gamespot days for similar reasons. People were pissed that he played Wii Sports sitting down!

I agree. They don't like handhelds, they're honest about that, and the fact that nothing here excites them is very telling I think.
I speak as someone who also doesn't like handhelds that much. If they got excited, I'd pay attention. They sound just as bored by the games as I would expect I would be.

They seemed pretty up on Wii U during podcast discussion. I'm telling you it has to do with it being a handheld. I'm not interested in games that offer inferior versions of series I love. As an adult, I don't have much time to play on the go. So if I'm going to be playing a Vita - it would be at home. What's the point when I can just load up Uncharted 3?
iOS has the right idea by offering unique experiences that are extremely bite sized and at a fraction of the cost.
Which podcast was that? The one they dismissed it as a current-gen system that will be left behind by the PS4/Xbox3, or the very lengthy discussions they had about the concept of the tablet being broken and uninteresting to begin with?

xD Sony fanboys are the best.
GB aren't too giddy on hardware, but if some notable software appears, they do tend to acknowledge it.
A lot of love of eshop the past few months, and Klepek and Ryan didnt hide their love for Mario 3d land.
Yeah, I've heard nothing positive about WiiU from them, or really the 3DS beyond a few key titles.
I'm not saying they're anti-Nintendo though.

I fucking LOVE Nintendo, and these are genuine concerns of mine too.
I wasn't being serious, but some people do think that. I agree with you, they are not too into the handheld experience.

I think I really want one of these. Definitely with Lumines, seeing as they just said there's a fucking LCD Soundsystem song in it.
I like the blank-faced nature of the stream, it's helping me make a judgement. I just worry about how much this is going to end up like the PSP.

the 3ds quicklooks in the last few weeks were pretty positive.

I am glad they are liking Lumines, funnily enough as soon as they were done showing it Gamestop sent me a text saying I could pick it up tomorrow morning. Twas meant to be.

I think it's a bit lame that systems have their most coverage at their launch when it usually takes a few months for big games to come out. Hard for a lot of people to get too enthusiastic about new systems when they can launch with upports, Ridge Racers, and some games rushed for launch (though the Vita does seem to have good games as well for launch)
