Maybe it's something you could figure out if you hadn't put the game down in 2007 and then come back to it at the very end with Patrick and Dave loudly discussing a hypothetical Klingon movie right next to you, then.

I'm guessing Brad also hasn't ridden a train since 2007.

Honestly, given his proficiency with Starcraft but less than stellar record on streams, I'm starting to suspect that Brad isn't nearly as bad at playing games as he is awful at focusing when there are any distractions present.

He beat Doom on the hardest difficulty. This has been known of rudds for years.

Brad's done some super dumb things on camera, but I don't think he deserves all the scorn he gets. He's no Ryan. I've literally never seen anyone worse at games than Ryan is.

Not really. A review of a game like Halo or Dead Space from someone who ran thru them in five hours on Easy is worthless to me.

In the case where the game is actually altered by difficulty setting, as long as they preface that they're playing on easy, there shouldn't be a problem. But I don't really care to go into this discussion.

Brad standing underneath a fucking light while in combat and not shooting it out / realising he was under a light... now there's a problem.

Ain't no shame in playing games on easy. Play to your skill level.

Hearing Jeff and Ryan talk about playing Dead Space on easy/normal was pretty frustrating. It's like they played a different game, complaining about how their inventory was always full of ammo and health. I don't think I ever once had a full inventory in that game while playing on Hard, ammo and health were so scarce, and the enemies were tough as hell.

I'm sure they could get through most games on the harder difficulties if they cared to. They just seem to find the path of least resistance through most games and power through them. In almost every shooter Jeff uses the most assault rifely gun, and in every class based RPG just picks Warrior.

I guess it's just an style they've adopted from reviewing games for so long.

Just playing it?

Random. I'll watch, though!

I tried to play The Darkness four times over the years. I always liked the introduction and the story setup, but when it got to the gunplay I couldn't carry on. Sooo bad. The darkness was boring to control, as well. I don't think I ever got more than an hour in.

I'm impressed it's archived so quickly, too. I'll grab it after I finish downloading TNT.

I started watching where I left off in The Darkness video. I was thinking in my head, when Dave and Patrick were talking about Elder Scrolls lore and said there was no name for the planet, that it must be driving Vinny nuts. Then, right on cue, he pops out to set the record straight.

He mentioned on the podcast that he got pulled into the Elder Scrolls lore rabbit hole and actually mentioned that the world was called Nirn.

We've been over this. Brad is not terrible at games. He's terrible at STARTING games. Once he clicks with a game, he's off to the races.

I'm normally fine with people playing a game however they like but that Bulletstorm quicklook really bummed me out.

I was screwing with my phone today and accidentally found out a way to watch premium video content for free (on my phone).

Who should I contact about this glitch/issue?

The only Quick Look from recent memory that frustrated me in any way was the LotR: War in the North with Ryan and Jeff. While I did take serious issue
/sarcasm
with Ryan constantly referring to the Giant Eagles as hawks, the fact that Jeff didn't seem to give two shits at all about anything he was seeing really dragged that QL down for me. He made no real attempt to hide his disinterest in the game.

At least Ryan was doing his usual best to feign interest (and unlike Jeff, he's at least seen the movies...so he had some vague knowledge of the source material). But overall I was actually looking forward to that QL, partially because I thought Brad would be involved in some way.

Seriously, if you guys haven't watched it, here's Brad's sad, lonely Quick Look of Lord of the Rings: Conquest from a few years back. It was one of the first QL's they did, before they really found the groove for what the feature would be. It's a wonderful window into witnessing a man's sanity slowly breakdown when forced into isolation with an awful game.

You say that like GAF hasn't had its own fair share of weird arguments along a lot of those similar topics.

I don't read a lot of GB's forum or comments but I hope they aren't as dumb as we have been on here a couple of times. Demanding apology from Brad after not remembering something in SoTC and someone comparing the endurance run to rape. Then we also got that guy constantly crying about them only liking xbox and lets not forget the skyrim statue full of money.

Weird arguments does not a horrible community make, they've managed to culminate into something far more nefarious and auto-disable-chat-while-watching-streams inducing.

But on GAF these elements get weeded out while they're kept unchecked/nurtured on other sites, that's the difference.

I never read the chat of a twitch.tv video, it's not worth the headache. auto-close.

I've seen some really cool stuff come out of their community but I also believe the average age of their members is much lower over there compared to neogaf. Also, the moderation isn't nearly as strict and I'd imagine strict moderation is pointless on their site because creating new accounts would be trivial. I'm glad they added the community spot light section on the homepage because anything of any worth would be lost in all the noise.

It's fun to watch and enjoy their videos, then upon completion, try and guess what the community has decided to wince and whine about this time. If it's SoTC "bad", chances are it will be over here too.

I'm now a paying member at GB, what have I been missing/what should I be watching?

Edit: seeing Jeff on TWiT pushed me over the edge and made me realize how much I love those guys, god that slow dance thing was painful.

Random PC Game: Phantasmagoria is the secret subscriber only endurance run.

I'd say just about any subscriber video except the Whisky Media Happy Hours are worth checking out. I'm a big fan of the Random PC Game series. A lot of people like Jar Time with Jeff. Ever since they did away with Happy Hour the subscribers videos have improved tremendously.

I have been able to watch subscriber content on my phone for a good year now. I have no clue why. I have a membership so I don't feel bad about it, but I do wonder about it some times. I asked in the first thread about it and nobody said anything.

Presumably you mean you can watch it while not being logged in? Cause you can still access it on your phone if you are.

Speaking of how bad Ryan is, I would love to watch Jim "Kirby has perfect difficulty" Sterling play a difficult videogame. Like Vanquish, which he poo-poo'd for having bad controls lol.

Hard is never hard, it's just slower.

Usually enemies kill you faster to make that longer health bar important. Last I recall Deadly Premonition was the only game where you could say this is totally true. Mass Effect 2 was kind of like this I guess because of cover negating how quickly your health dropped.

GOTY behind the scenes, Ryan playing Dark Souls, classic system marathons, Vinny fixing his Joust cabinet. Jar Time and Random PC game videos are all worth catching up on. And of course, Jeff's dark descent into Gal Gun.

Except he didn't review those so either pick out a real example of this or stop trollin?

I was making a general point about the how worthless impressions of most games are to me if they are coming from someone who only played the game on Easy, like Jeff did with Dead Space 2.

But thanks for the advice about not trolling, crazy guy who claims to have poured a cup of coffee into a Dunkin Donuts cash register for the sake of three cents.

Theft is theft.

So Brad has failed in both of his Breaking Brad segments and didn't finish The Darkness. He needs to man the fuck up if you ask me!

Good fun watching The Darkness video, although it reminded me why I stopped playing it myself quite early on. Good story, interesting concept, but badddlllyyy done.

Also, I like the fact that Patrick has hosted both that and the Vita marathon. It makes a good change from Ryan hosting everything!

Time to watch the TNT from this week, although Whitta is there which is never a good sign (especially if Vinny/Jeff/Brad isn't there).

Edit: Yeah, bored already, although partly because I don't give a shit about TM. Time to go to the Lego videos on Tested!

If Brad keeps picking achievements that are as hard as Mile High Club and 1,000,000 on one life in Geometry Wars, I'd be really impressed if he ever completed one of them. Two hours straight on camera while getting shit from coworkers seems like the worst possible conditions.
