I'll give the Giant Bomb guys the benefit of the doubt. They deserve that much. But why would Rorie post about the podcast equipment being gone for "Chili Day" and hoping to record a Screened podcast "when it gets back" if he knew? Seems off.

Maybe they told him on Monday or Tuesday and he didn't realize they would be announcing everything so soon. It's all speculation at this point, but I really wish him the best of luck in whatever he ends up doing.

Coonce is gone? Omg :-(

Also Rorie should be going with the Giant Bomb guys to Gamespot. Would be really bad if they just cut him off like that.

I feel really bad about Rorie. I hope he didnt leave his job at Obsidian to work with his friends from GameSpot only to have them leave him behind a year later.

Geez, I like Matt Rorie but it sure seems he's going out of his way to get everyone to feel sorry for him. I keep picturing this:

I'm so depressed. Part of me feels like it would make sense that Giantbomb would stay the same as having two Gamespots would be redundant. But part of me feels like having one huge Gamespot could also be beneficial to CBSi... Someone comfort me TT

Rorie is an adult who knew this was coming, he is just playing it up.
Try to imagine how you'd feel if you were a part of the amazingness that was Whiskey Media when everyone was there and all of those dudes packed up and left you behind.

You would not be happy.

I don't know how this suddenly absolves gamespot from anything they've done. My main concern is the possibility of what happened in 2007 happening again, and nothing really indicates that it isn't possible. All that's been done is the airing of gamespots dirty laundry, but if those suits are still in place what makes people think that Gerstmann giving an 8.0 to Zelda WiiU won't result in his firing again?

I didn't get to watch the whole interview, but from what people have said, all that was done was gerstmann just confirming what we all had thought.

Its not like he JUST found out today.
No, but it's all become way more real for him today obviously. He's hearing the entire community buzz over it while he's kind of just sitting in the corner. I don't think it should be too hard to understand why he's so down.

Those suits AREN'T still in place. That was the entire point.

I understand, I just don't feel bad for him.

Because professionalism was Whiskey Media's huge draw. Good point.

I know, but the post-oscar podcast on screened was something else

You should watch the whole interview.

But those suits aren't still in place. They've been pretty specific about that.

But those suits aren't there anymore. Can it happen again, sure, but Jeff seems confident that it won't.

There isn't a thing that would have made you think otherwise, so that's a moot point. Other than that, those suits responsible for that decision have been gone. For a while.

Hopefully Vinny and Drew will have way more time to actually be in the video stuff now that Vinny isn't overseeing an entire network of sites.

I feel for Rorie but the dude needs to lay off alcohol. The rest of the crew seems to have moderation while he, at times, drinks like he's still a college kid. It's not a good look when they're presenting content.
