Did that conversation with Jeff and John Davison not get archived? I only got to see a few minutes of it.

You've got people in this very thread posting that "I STILL don't want to give that piece of shit website any hits" over what happened 4 years ago.

C'mon son. If he'd outed EA or Activision the reaction would be different and you know it.

I think we expect that EA and Activision probably already do this. It's just when the outlets cave to the pressure that we have anything interesting to talk about.

I'm pretty sure that the stuff about the Tools of Destruction review isn't new. I seem to remember hearing about that not long after the whole Gerstmann-gate thing happened.

Edit: Yup, here's a story by Patrick from back in 2007 which mentions them having similar issues regarding the Ratchet & Clank review not long before the Kane and Lynch review.

I hope this means bigger paychecks for everyone. Jeff's roommate should be pretty scared right now. Jeff needs that storage space.

Me too, I want to see the guys have their own places, if they want to, that is. Always seemed weird to me they had room mates with the work they did (well, at least Jeff and Ryan), but I guess I have no idea how much they get paid (and to be fair, they live in one of the most expensive places in America to live in).

it's almost as if it was 100% obvious what the reason was the entire time.

then it turned out to be that 100% obvious reason!

I posted it earlier but whatever.... why are people angry that the story was what they expected? Should they have came up with some big elaborate story just so people could start posting Shyamalan pictures?

It was important that people could see both sides publically talk about it and move it, it showed maturity from Gamespot and while it wasn't as 'shocking' as some people might have wanted, it did alot to re-assure people that Gamespot has changed and this deal might just be beneficial.

Anybody have a link to the tribute/farewell that the Gamespot guys did for Jeff after he was fired? I remember seeing that on youtube at some point but I can't find it now.

ok, my animosity against gamespot has ended. I trust Gerstmann and what he's saying, so GS is officially visitable for me once again and I can finally place IGN back in the graveyard where it belongs. It's so weird visiting my profile again after all these years and seeing my shitty looking photoshops and blog posts. It's like literally going into a time machine. I really don't want to see how my forum posts were.

Anyone else former GS members that are coming back? Gimme some usernames. Mines the the same as my GAF name

"that he knows about"

Decided to login at gamespot and got this error message :).... It's been a while, I don't even remember why.

"This user has been banned from GameSpot for violating our Terms of Use. No continues, no restarts—game over. Please remember to treat our community respectfully and act responsibly, lest you end up flattened by The Banhammer. Always be excellent to each other."

No not that one. I'm pretty sure I saw a video at some point where all the gamespot guys were together in a room saying goodbye to Jeff or something. Like the last episode of the show or something.
Yeah, they did a video with Ricardo and Ryan talking about the firing and what it would mean for GS. It must be archived?

So the bottom line is that Dave, Jeff, Vinny, Brad, Ryan, Patrick and Alex are opening a Gamestop franchise. One in Sausalito and the other in Petaluma.

Wait, how do I cancel my subscription? I can't find it in my options. I can see how to upgrade to yearly, but not how to cancel renewing my monthly subscription.

When Jeff was talking about Kevin and Vinny teaming up to talk about Dark Souls I thought that was a good idea. Then I realized they had freaking Matt Rorie right next to them that they could have talked to this whole time. Poor Rorie.

He did talk to him, Rorie was with them in the quick look, no? Also he did a long write up on it. Kinda funny that Jeff forgot about Rorie too.

Man, watching that after listening to Gerstmann talk to Davison how the Gamespot staff really got thrown under the bus for no reason, as his "termination" was entirely the doing of the CNET management and had nothing to do with them....it must have really sucked for all of them :( Alex in particular looks uncomfortable during the entire thing.
Alex always looks uncomfortable. But that is why I like him.
