It sounds like they didn't really have any systems/games there aside from the Wii and MP9.

yeesh. I gotta wonder why that was the case. it has been a week since they moved in.

anyway, I don’t want to gripe too much. TNT is never something I watch with rapt attention, anyway. it just seems odd

Wait, a Mario Party TNT being anything less than amazing? :\

It will be interesting to watch tomorrow then, I guess. That other board game on Wii they did was amazing.

Actually, it seems like most of the Whiskey Media equipment stayed with Whiskey Media. Jeff mentioned having to buy new TVs and even consoles in one of the first videos after the move.

The ones they have in the office right now are personal ones they brought from home.

Holla we want prenup! we want prenup, yeah!

Mario Party 9 removed the part where you can fuck over the other players, this TNT was doomed. Green screen and murderer Alexis saved it though.

Eh fair enough.

I haven't played a Mario Party in years. The older one were fantastic. I guess it has changed a lot.

You could still at least fuck people over or get fucked over in absolutely absurd ways in later Mario Party games, even if the items, boards, and minigames were dumb.

This one seemed neutered as hell, like they somehow casualized it even more. Stars and coins are one thing now (instead of collecting coins to buy stars, you just get mini-stars each turn), everyone moves around together in a car, you have to land on minigame spaces to get a minigame (instead of at the end of a turn), the only items are different kinds of dice blocks, the dice is 1-6 instead of 1-10, you can choose which minigame you want to play, and once you reach the end of the board the game stops.

That TNT didn't do much for me, but then again I usually get bored of TNT's after ~ an hour. I wish they'd play like two games over the course of one TNT or something.

Mario Party 9 still has opportunities to fuck people over, just not on the first board which is the worst one.
Pretty much every other board has something chasing you (Boos in the Boo one, rising lava in the magma one etc) and if it catches you on your turn you lose half your mini stars, which doesn't really matter at the start but near the end of the level this can put you from first to last without a way to catch up. This is where the car and dice items actually have a purpose because the whole point is to use them to get the next player into a situation where the board hazard will catch up to them and fuck them up.

mario party was fun on gc or n64 or something. idk maybe it was just cuz we were drunk ;-/

And thus, Mario Party 9 is the highest reviewed Mario Party game since 2 on N64 back in 2000.

I love that gif... That's also the guy who was bitching on twitter last night about the dude who said that GameInformer was just a big PR machine for the publishers instead of doing real journalism (which isn't exactly false...)

Did IGN get Whiskey's wiki tech, or have they just decided that user created wikis are what they need idenpendently of that?

Kind of curious but too lazy to go back and check: How many of the promised QLs in ILM actually showed up?

This week? We have al but two Yakuza Dead Souls and Operation Raccoon City still haven't been done.

However judging by those new consoles sitting on Jeffs Desk in the Mailbag video I reckon we still could get them.
