Yeah I know, audio in a giant bomb thread...

Is the sound effed up in the dwarf 2 vid or is that just me?

I'm watching it right now (HTML 5 version) and the audio seems fine.

I love Vinny's idea that everything they played so far is back story for the hero sword dwarf that comes to save the world from the spider threat they unleashed.

Overall the Dwarf Fortress stuff is pretty disappointing if that's all they are going to do with it. They shouldn't have done it at all if Dave didn't have time to prepare. That's not to say that them just fucking around didn't have its moments, but that isn't the tone they set in the first video, nor what I wanted out of this series.

It's pretty much exactly what I expected, after watching how Flight Club operates. These guys always start fucking around and blowing everything up. I figured once they realized you could just dig straight down to the middle of the planet, that's exactly what Vinny would ask him to do.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll make a second attempt after this colony gets wiped out.

so what are some great older TNTs to watch?

it looks like the one place to find them is http://www.twitch.tv/giantbomb/videos?kind=past_broadcasts , right? I've been trying to find Trackmania but it's hard because a lot of them don't say the game in the title, anyone remember which ones those were?
Fortune Street, Battlefield Bad Company 2, 3DO, (aforementioned) Banjo Kazooie, Dead Island.

EDIT: The only list I've seen for TNT is here and it's a partial one that stopped being updated.

Fortune Street, Dead Island, anything with classic games.

I was just watching the dead island one yesterday. Jeff's laughter in the first few minutes is amazing

The biggest problem is that Dave is still to inexperienced with the interface to just start doing cool random shit on the fly. Not being able to reassign jobs to dwarves is pretty damning, especially when they got flooded with useless migrants in need of reeducation this early in the game.

Going in cold after a 2 weeks hiatus, without the DF wiki to cover your ass, pretty much demands a level of expertise I'm not even sure that I posses. I hope they wait for Dave to pick speed on the game if they (hopefully) do another episode (maybe try out adventure mode?).

The guys should really re-introduce the grab-bag format of TNT if there's nothing coming out.

Basically like the SNES stuff, only with more recent releases. Play a 15 minute multiplayer match of one game, then swap to another once it gets stale. It gives them a chance to play some of the more obscure games that came out.

I think they should do Neverdead for those moments.

I'd like more random assortments of current gen titles with dead multiplayer communities.

I seem to remember there being some sort of talk about a DayZ video some time back, but I can't find anything - did I dream this? Were it just the cries of the many for them to do a DayZ video, and not actual video ever emerging?

Give it like a month and it will be back down to $10.

Yeah, that'd be my guess as well. I was living in Osaka up until recently and managed to pick up a copy for something like $5 a while back and while obviously the price will never get that low due to import costs, I'd be surprised if the prices stay that inflated for too much longer. Worst comes to worst, there are always ways to buy directly from Japan to kind of take advantage of the actual market price, even bypassing places like Play-Asia.
