Oh my god, the Sleeping Dogs DLC quick look is fucking amazing. I only caught the ass end of it when it was live, but jesus, I missed this entire section

Something I've been curious about for awhile now... does anyone here actually use giantbomb's wiki and achievements tracking system?

I use/edit the wiki a bit. I edited enough stuff to get to the 1k point where you can then edit things 'instantly' without explicit moderation approval, but I mainly use the wiki rather than edit.

I add game releases to the wiki so I can use the Game Vault app to keep track of my game collection and I look at the achievement tracking from time to time because it's easier to check out trophies on that site rather than the Playstation site.

I either go to Giantbomb.com/chat if I know a live event is on or I go to my bookmark of the video section. Literally the only way I use the site. Kinda crazy, really, but yeah. That's the two things that bring me to the site with the Bombcast auto-downloading on iTunes.

It's a little strange that Ryan paid $250 for a Vita on the weekend instead of waiting a couple of days and getting the AC Liberation Vita bundle for the same price.

I added all the Spice Girls and Teletubbies, and introduced the concept of defecation. I only know the one game with defecation as a concept, but surely there are more.

I added my home town, multiplayer party system, Ashley from RE4 and wrote the inventory section of RE 4 page. I did it all right when the system came online though. I haven't really touched it since but I do sometimes checkout a games page.

When it was launched I dabbled a bit with it too, but soon realised the lack of a good advanced search stifles any potential and makes it no better than Wikipedia.

The database has all these connections of who made what, when, which concepts they incorporated etc, but none of that is exposed to the user in an intelligent way. Even something as simple as looking at the games on a developer's page is completely static - no way to sort by release date or choose which platforms to include/exclude.

Allowing users to 'build' their own search (outside of just the game's title) would be great and go a long way to making the wiki more useful, but Dave said this isn't something we should expect in the re-design (and I think Jeff mentioned CBSi has bigger plans for the wiki...).

I've updated the wiki once and that was during a live stream when they specifically requested something be added I have no memory of what it was though. Its just not something I'm all that interested in and have never needed to use it to find info when a Google search often sufficed.

I'm hooked into the achievement thing, because I'm occasionally curious to see which achievements are common, and how I'm doing compared to other people.

Of course the biggest problem is that a lot of achievements simply show as "Secret Achievement" so it can be difficult figuring out which one it actually is.

I made the page for Harvest Moon, A Tale of Two Towns, and a few other edits here and there(Fixing broken links, adding pictures, etc.).

I use the API for a studenty project I did over a few months, which pulls from the wiki content. Does that count?

... I also added Marathon to Halo CE's related games back when the site's wiki first launched. And... that's pretty much my entire interaction with GB outside of their video content and podcasts.

The only page I've ever added was a concept about strategy games where you can jump into units and control them directly. Mostly because it felt wrong that it wasn't in there.

Hmm, I was just wondering how much of their audience actually use those tools. I barely use any.

Also I've been checking their quest system and it's strangely elaborate.

I linked my Steam and XBL accounts for the achievement stuff, but I don't check it that often

The wiki is nice, I've used it quite a few times to look up release dates of old stuff I've forgotten.
Been meaning to create/improve some articles, but never got around to it. I've only made a few corrections here and there.

I do edit the wiki quite a bit, but that was because I had a lot of free time. Often, I find that Wikipedia does the same job, if no better, due to better moderation and a bigger community.

I also use the achievement system, to fulfill a quest. You guys still remember when quests were big? Do you guys even remember quests at all?

Gotta say, I bought the DLC last night and played through it in an hour and a half (that includes all the side stuff). It's certainly not worth 7 bucks, luckily I got it on gmg for 5.

OMG, I'm going through the Octoberkast archive of the stuff I missed while sleeping... Drew's story about Kiki is AMAZING.... Drew is my hero lol.

Edit: And yeah ok... Warp 11 actually not bad lol. The lyrics are really dumb but music is not bad.

Drew does whatever the fuck he wants. Nothing can stop him. When the average person is curious about North Korea, they visit Wikipedia. Drew books a trip. When your typical tricaster user sees Kiki and wonders who she is, they do a google search. Drew jumps in his car and meets her in person.

Iron Monger multiball is the way to go. If you can re-light MONGER and drop the center target again you get the super jackpot off the center spinner right behind it. Honestly that game is a beast, if you can just get that super you will be set. The drones and whiplash target will only cause a drain; if you need extra points then combo the ramps to multiply each hit.

Just saying

Maybe I missed when Vinny got into powerlifting, but judging by that pic he has close to 20 inch bi's and his chest/back look huge too. But..his head is normal.

Sometimes I don't get it.

Creed 3. One of the most high profile games of this year, yet Giant Bomb still don't have their review online yet. Now of course the game only launched yesterday, but the review embargo lift on Tuesday creates a flurry of gamers visiting sites. I would have thought that GB would want a slice of that click pie.

Lately Ryan seems to be taking his sweet time with reviews. Remember that X-COM was over a week past release.

Is this Octoberkast on the Giantbomb site?

It's a tested feature and the GB guys were just guests. You can find the video and audio archive on http://www.tested.com

Who else besides Ryan has done a late review lately? I'm really curious, because I can't think of anyone.

I wonder if the move to CBSi means they will get some kind of mendatory PDR process to go through every year. It really wouldn't hurt for some of those guys to analyse their flaws and get some healthy criticism.

I would guess so. Unless CBSi is the only corporate organisation in the world who don't believe in performance management.
