Giant Bomb Thread The Third: #TeamBrad

Usually I prefer darker sites, but GB's white site is basically grey with lots of gradients - which makes it much more readable.

The frequency of which, and amount of incorrect knowledge these dudes pull out of their ass is astounding.

Like, if you are genuinely unsure, that's fine. But in a number of Quick Looks and Bombcasts someone will be like "Is that the game where this _________?" and often times (usually Ryan) will be like "No, you're thinking of _________" and then someone else will be like "No, I'm pretty sure [Guy #1] was right, it is _______________" (Which will end up being correct) but then (again, usually Ryan) will be like "No. You guys are wrong, its this." Even when that's completely off base from the truth.

If you genuinely don't know, then quit trying to state is as fact, state as you think, but are not sure.

If they don't know and are stating soemthing wrong as fact to appear smart? Then that's a problem.

If they truly think what they're saying is correct, and its wrong? That's not normally a big deal, but these guys do it CONSTANTLY, in almost every vide or podcast I can point out an instance where this happens.

I just feel like if you're informing people, you should be at least a little informed yourself.

Disclaimer: This argument's probably pretty poorly worded, I'm trying to type it out quickly. Also there's a chance it comes across as dickish; that's not my intention. Mostly just some constructive feedback for Patrick and Brad (or any of the other bombers who read the forum)

Missed this yesterday

Meant to spend an hour with 999 to wind down yesterday afternoon, and then work on a feature. Ended up playing 999 for three hours. Hmm.

...promising signs.

On a side note, I plugged in 999 again to check something and good god the inability to skip dialogue immediately is frustrating (the text speed thing Scoops was talking about yesterday).

It happens to everyone that plays it past the first ending.

I've been playing the game feverishly ever since getting
the knife ending, which resolved absolutely nothing. Talk about an arbitrary way of determining which ending players get, but maybe that stuff will make sense once I go through all of it. For a lesser game I may have taken the game out and started playing something else but I'm too invested to quit now.

It's both arbitrary and it makes sense at the same time :|

what you think is nothing is something. all endings mean something. you will see.

The way they're emphasizing their wiki tools and wiki makes me feel bad for not really using them. :P

I've been hitting some of the seriously under-filled game/character pages while listening to Bombcasts here and there (there's a serious connection between them not talking about/quick looking a game and its low presence in the wiki).

...promising signs.

Scoops will be all over this series once it hits.

I'm a little bummed I haven't seen any Giant Bomb chatter about PS+ for Vita. They had been extolling the greatness of Plus for a month or two now, and they all had been dancing with the devil in regards to maybe buying a Vita. I would've thought that announcement yesterday would have made some sort of splash. Maybe it was just bad timing.

News item up, happened after bombcast, they've played/have access to the games on PS+.

No Twitter chat, yes I know that's why I said maybe bad timing, they're not one person. Some have played some of those games, others haven't. Brad, Ryan and Vinny all specifically have talked about maybe getting/actually getting a Vita in Ryan's case.

Yeah, well, they do have access to these games already. The games aren't that exciting.

? They have access to pretty much every game, yet they still seem to think that PS+ is a pretty rad service.

That's mostly objectively, in comparison to Xbox Live. It seems like the only one so far who has actually downloaded games from it and played them is Patrick.

These free games probably aren't enough to get them excited about the Vita when they already have access to them and none are particularly interesting to them (except maybe Gravity Rush).
