So I'm just listening to last week's Bombcast now, and they're talking about Jeff's copy of Magical Chase NIB. Is that game really worth upwards of $5k?
Just watched the second Spookin' with Scoops. Better than the first one, mainly because I could see what was going on. But I'd really like to see Patrick analyse the games he plays with this feature. I'd love to see him talk about the aspects of the games that work and don't work when it comes to horror and common uses of themes and mechanics and how they can affect the player's experience. The current system is interesting when he plays older quirky games like Clock Tower and Friday the 13th but if I want to experience a modern horror game, playing it by myself is always going to be the better option. I think adopting an approach like that would make the feature so much more worthwhile.

What's there to break down, really? Horror in film and games basically comes down to a couple very simple Audio/Visual tricks, which combined with pacing trigger a basic animal instinct response. There's basically nothing else to the genre. It's as creatively bankrupt as a thing can possibly be.
Any sports stuff. Orcs and Men was real good too.are there any quick looks worth watching for hilarity recently? I've been swamped with stuff and want to get right to the goodies.

Great horror games are much more than simple lighting and visual tricks. How the games approach combat, pacing, aesthetic choices, ambience and much more can make or break a horror game. It can be fairly easy to create a mod full of potential jump scares but to create a true sense of foreboding terror and dread, never allowing you to feel safe and never allowing the player to know what's coming next, it's an amazing experience that I feel very few have nailed.
Really? Aren't you being a little reductionist here? Or are you saying that films like The Shining boil down to audio/visual tricks? What's there to break down, really? I'll give you games, but that's simply untrue in the case of film. There is so much more going on when horror is in creative hands, than is usually given credit to, that goes beyond the simple smoke and mirrors of its audio-visual design and editing. What's there to break down, really? An opened copy recently sold on ebay for 3.5k, and Jeff's is unopened. So yes.So I'm just listening to last week's Bombcast now, and they're talking about Jeff's copy of Magical Chase NIB. Is that game really worth upwards of $5k?
I would buy this fine restaurant management simulator for a high (low) price.
I love dueling tnts as long as this doesn't take away a potential pc engine day/livestream.
Guess I'm the minority.
I enjoyed all the previous TNTs but the dual games format has been terrible. Split screens plus dual commentaries are a mess. Not only does the shifting focus take away from the game on the smaller screen but the guys playing are also unable to get totally into it since they're split up.
Please get rid of this format. PLEASE.
I went in expecting the dual game format to work fairly well since X-COM was a slower game, but it just made me realize that I'd much rather just watch Jeff and Patrick play TurboGrafx.
They're going to do it though.
For a whole day in fact.
I dunno why, but the TNT really convinced me of getting X-COM while I've been only slightly interested until now.

The twin TNTs are crap.
TNT was pretty good at killing the interest I had in X-Com. Characters missing shots that a blind person with no arms could hit is one of the most annoying things a game can do, so I can already imagine ALT+F4'ing out of the game and uninstalling it after a series of stupid misses.
Quoted for Truthwhat's the Gamespot show that Ryan guests on?

I just wish they dedicated 2 hours to Xcom versus and then had a separate feature of 2 hours of the turbograx stuff. Doing them both at the same time seems a waste.
Yeah, I can never find it either. I rely on posts here to know about a new episode.thanks, it's not listed int he Videos section on their site. weird.
Normal is horrible in co-op, it's a vapid cakewalk.24 hours of live stream tomorrow. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/were-playing-halo-for-24-hours-for-the-kids/4422/
You guys can never complain about lack of content ever again.
I don't even like halo and I'm all excited about this now.

"wahhhhh Alexis something something" will come from someone. Which always just reminds me of this, except with watching Giant Bomb rather than what he's up to
