I watched the main show over the weekend by downloading it off twitch.

Glad they've archived the premium stream now. Looking forward to watching this over the coming week

I can't put my finger on it (something to do with the colours/shading?), but whatever that guy does instantly nails the Persona aesthetic.

Edit: Also, with all the amazing talent within the Giant Bomb community, couldn't they perhaps solicit some t-shirt/hoodie designs? Would be nice to mix it up a bit.

Yeah, devs have had it for a while - it was how P4 was shown at E3. Sony doesn't want the press to have it, I guess? SCEA is like the worst part of Sony anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just don't want the press to cover Vita games.

They wouldn't need it seeing how little vita content they do and how uninterested they are with the system (can't blame them). What was the last quick look they even did for a vita game?
 
I was listening to the This Year podcast recap from 2012 (which is amazing by the way) and I couldn't believe I never actually heard the Leigh Alexander part before.

My god.
 
I loved when they piped in Eye of the Tiger on Breaking Brad. That + Drake dancing, it's just great.

They have said a ton of times that they don't cover Vita stuff in Quick Looks because they don't want to record shitty over the shoulder video. Once they can actually start capping direct video they will start covering the Vita more.

They said in the past they would do vita quicklooks if they had the capture equipment.

Yeah, I went through that stuff for the first time too. Her portion was very painful to listen to.
 
My first day with no subscription. I'm surprised they let you watch HD videos still. Even less reason for me to upgrade. The ads are very big and noticeable, though. Not enough to annoy me enough.

I'm pretty sure if they announce an episode of Flight Club coming up, I'll subscribe for a month.

Tech features (HD videos, mobile site, apps etc) should always be standard. These are the things that get new and returning visitors for the site.

From day 1 their premium features should have been 100% content based.

Well, I thought that maybe IGN had access to it, since the developer walkthrough was the equivalent of a Quick Look EX, with IGN editor Ryan Clements providing commentary with Aram Jabbari (and it's disappointing that Clements apparently doesn't know much about P4!).

I guess Atlus could've brought the capture unit, or Clements went to Atlus for this. I guess I just got my hopes up that Giant Bomb could revisit P4 once again (and with great timing thanks to all this fantastic fan art).

Wasn't it that they wanted to extend the Bombcast by an hour and make that premium until Friday, when it would open up to everyone?

But after backlash that idea eventually became the Whiskey Media Happy Hour.
 
Watching some of the old random PC games, I really hope they do temple of elemental evil and icewind dale 2 at some point. They both seem super cool, but I tried ID2 and just got ICED by some ork dudes over and over again and gave up.

maybe if i watch Dave play it I will be able to figure out what I need to be doing.

it's a model used by talk radio and stuff, and it wouldn't be as awful as everyone made it out to be, but they didn't want to storm the backlash.

They didn't for a long time. They gave up on keeping HD video a subscriber feature when they made Youtube a player option.

No, the plan was to cut the existing podcast in half and delay the second half for non-premiums, not to add another hour to it. Their rationale being the Bombcast was significantly longer than the other WM-era podcasts.

But we don't talk about that here.
 
No, no, no, the rationale was that it took away a lot of working hours from everyone in the podcast.

But it was a daft idea that they thankfully never went through with.

Wonder what the Borderlands 2 talk will be like. I'm guessing a lot of "if you liked Borderlands" you'll like Borderlands 2 kind of talk but I hope they share some cool stories about the gameplay.
 
I'd like to know if Jeff thought it was a positive or negative thing that he was unable to create the unstoppable character he created in the original Borderlands.

So when you subscribe do you go back to the old GB player that was around before the CBS move?

I've been watching most of my GB stuff on Youtube since then because the player they have now always gives me trouble. I'm thinking about subscribing again and am very curious since I won't be able to use youtube with premium stuff.
