Giant Bomb Thread The Third: #TeamBrad

I'm almost never bothered by the way they play because watching a person play a game poorly just isn't something that irritates me. The only time I'm frustrated is when they blame the game for not giving them enough information, when the information was obviously given. I think they've been doing that less lately because I believe they started to realize that they miss a lot in the Quick Look scenario and it's better to give the game the benefit of the doubt in those cases.

They really should have put a "SPOILERS. WE WILL RUIN AC3 FOR YOU" bumper at the start of the QL though, like they did back in the day for the Fallout 3 DLC.

To be fair, right at the start Patrick & Ryan did warn viewers to switch off if they didn't want the story ruined. They said themselves that they had no idea if there would be spoilers or not, but they were upfront about the possibility.

I would also argue that if you're that concerned about spoilers, simply don't watch this kind of coverage. It would be very hard to stream a game for 90 minutes and not spoil it to some degree.

But there's a difference between minor story spoilers and spoiling the twist that the game sets up for the first couple hours.

Now that I think about it, they could have simply loaded up a previous sequence via the animus DNA whatever. Or he could have finished the game and fucked around in the post credit world. It's not like he had no other options but to show this specific part of the game.

What kind of person voluntarily watches an hour of someone else playing a video game then complains about spoilers? How could you possibly expect there to be no "spoilers" in that video??

To be fair Ryan was playing. Everyone was expecting him to die for a good 50 minutes on the first enemy that he encounters.

Speaking of Ryan, he pretends to like strategy games. He really needs to check out Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. Definitely in the discussion for strategy game of the year with xcom and Unity of Command and probably others that I am forgetting. Did they ever play UoC?

That's all well and good when you're playing by yourself at home and you can focus purely on the game. Playing in a production environment and trying to carry on an intelligent conversation at the same time is not that, not even remotely.

Not sure why I even post this response anymore, nobody listens or cares.

I think most people whining about it feel that they can sit around with friends and shoot the shit while playing games just fine.

It's different than what you guys do though.

It is absolutely amazing the GB guys even interact with this community with all the constant shit people give them. You can't stand watching Brad or Ryan play during quick looks, don't fucking watch the video. You don't want the AC3 beginning to be spoiled, it's pretty obvious you shouldn't watch the quick look, especially when you can just go walk to the store and buy the game yourself.

It would be great if we could all just stop being so negative. I understand it is the internet and that's what you do on the internet, but come on.

Pretty much.

I'm always amazed when Brad or Patrick pop up in this thread, and try to respond to complaints.

Don't listen to the vocal minority guys. There are loads of us who think your content is ace, but we just don't shout as loudly as the few negative posters!

Then people wonder why long-form videos have all but disappeared from the internet and everything is 3 minutes or less...

I remember playing games in arcades when I was a kid I'd always start messing up if I noticed someone stopped to watch me play. Except in multiplayer/sports games for some reason, where it had the opposite effect.

Now I haven't watched the AC3 quick look because of spoilers, but was Ryan playing a section of the game he hadn't played before? I think that's always a bad idea when they do that in quick looks of story-heavy games, they're kind of ruining that section of the game for themselves.

I've started streaming some of my driving game sessions on Twitch. I was playing Forza Horizon the other day and was doing really well. Lots of great drifts, no mistakes, etc. Then I glanced over at the Twitch dashboard and noticed I had 10 people watching. Normally I had 0 or 1. Suddenly all I could do was crash over and over.

Constant shit? It's like 95% positive posts in this thread and everywhere else and you'll find some people talking shit about every single thing out there.

There's a twist? Now it's all I'm gonna be looking for!

You're right. Overall positive, but the negative really sticks out.

Maybe I'm just a GB fanboy and I feel personal attacked...AHHHH it is all coming full circle.

Did they ever figure out a TeamBrad shirt design, or did they forget about it once games started releasing again?

I still want to do it if people care enough. Do people care enough? Is the moment over?

If there's enough interest (there still seems to be some interest, but I'm perennially wracked with self-doubt) I'll talk to Ryan about pushing a design through.

Do it.

Right.

Now.

I want one! I still have my store credit for re-upping this year!

The moment is only over until the next edition of Breaking Brad.

You have about 14400 posts of relevance left. You better get on that.

Absolutely, as long as you keep doing Breaking Brad they will never stop being relevant.

It is funny that GAF is most critical of GB in the GB-centered threads.
People closest to the site care about what they do the most? Interesting.

Any posts I've made in here is centered around wanting them to be as good as they can be. What's actually funny is seeing the themes of this thread constantly cycle around without fail.

Giants celebration means @davesnider couldn't make it into work, so no Blade Runner. We're gonna do Sleepy Dawgs Halloween DLC live, though!

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK :'(

I have the SD DLC but I wanna play it for myself first so I can't even watch that.

The more GB responds to stuff on this forum while skirting around my original question, makes me even more suspicious of a cover-up. Does Jeff Gertsmann still have a Wii?
