Wait, how do you expect the mutiplayer aspect of it, like it asking the other players to login, if it only works with 1 console? This console is so backwards.
They will have to make additional IDs on your console.

Well, it's not like there's achievements to unlock while playing on another person's console... >_>

This console's online is bananas and weird.

Didn't we have a thread about the ID not being transferable and some people were reducing that ability to, "only for nerds bringing out their accounts to friend's houses." Did I imagine that?
wtf. I do that with my bf's PS3 and he does that with my PS3 all the time. A lot of people I know do that with their 360s because it makes sense.

It's more of a convenient necessity.

People will rationalize anything when it comes to their favorite gaming companies.

This doesn't look fun. Wonder if it's meant for more players

They're doing it 4 player and it still doesn't seem fun. Love the artstyle but a lot of this just seems shallow and just makes me ask why?

Which is the exact same thing that I would say about and yet it moves.

I wonder if they locked accounts to consoles so they don't have to worry about DRM for the downloaded games?

Since Brad could play all of Patrick's games on his account, maybe that's why. If you can't register your account on another console, they don't have to worry about who bought that content.

It's certainly a DRM thing, but Microsoft, for example, ties licenses to accounts and hardware. If you're bringing your account to a different machine, you can access all your purchased items but it will require an internet connection. If the transfer is permanent, you can use Xbox.com to tie licenses to the account and new hardware. Basically, it's been kind of figured out. MS took their time to get there and it's a shame Nintendo hasn't made it standard.

I guess the account system wouldn't bother me since I don't plan on buying more than one Wii U. I can see the point of not wanting people to share IDs so people have to buy their own copies of games, but I also see why people are so upset over it.

Anyway, Nintendo has to have to way to transfer accounts in the event of a broken console. Otherwise, that would be some bullshit of the highest caliber.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that nintendo didn't want to bother with it.

As in: we could make this right and have lots of work to figure out this DRM-linked-to-a-console-or-account thing or, well, fuck it and treat it on a case-by-case basis because, you know, we're idiots.

It's also a necessity if or when your console breaks.

Heh

fair enough

I'm stupid, so bear with me. Why are they mad about tying their account to the office systems? Aren't these brand new accounts? Are they upset because they bought games on the accounts? I feel like the company could reimburse that or something.

Because it's fucking stupid and yeah, Patrick tied his account to the office system and ought stuff.

They created their private account on the office machine.

"He he, yummy!"

I cringed a little.
It's a good game with an excellent soundtrack. <3 virt

Because they won't be able to sign into those personal accounts (with which they likely bought stuff) when they're at home.

Edit: Also, like Friedreich said, you may not be able to transfer stuff over when/if your console dies.

Patrick bought EVERYTHING ON THE STORE.

They created their PERSONAL accounts. You know, with their actual usernames they use for everything on the internet.

They also transfered their shit from their 3DS systems, so I don't know what that means acount-wide. Can they do it again on a new account? Are their 3DS info stuck on that console forever? shit, I don't know.

It's pretty dumb.

Well, they are screwed

I agree that the account tying to the system is dumb, and I didn't realize the one guy bought everything on the store (LOL). But as far as usernames and info, it seems like they could delete the accounts and re-make it at home later to get it on their system.

But damn...the guy who bought everything...ouch
