That's possible. The only thing is, with the 3G and 3GS the casings were almost identical, so it was pretty easy to get economies of scale with both models so they ended up keeping both around. But with the 3GS and iPhone4, the innards and casing are radically different, it might not be worth keeping both in production, I mean just comparing the teardowns of both phones they are completely different. That's one reason I believe that they'll either have a 16Gb at $99 or nothing in that price slot and start the iPhones at $199.

if you move to 3G service, pay an extra 10 bucks a month. pretty much everyone else did who upgraded to a 3G or 3GS.

It's almost a fact that it'll launch in June. And it'll definitely make an appearance at WWDC. Don't know how likely it is that it'll launch on the 7th, though.

Oh yeah we do, i didn't realize you meant subsidized prices, which is why i was asking.
Still, the prices are insane imo, i mean £30 a month with Unltd Texts/Data and 300 Minutes with the phone costing £150 intially. Or the free phone on a £45 a month minimum.

Really? I got mine in June or July of last year when it came out.

So I checked by calling *639# and my date was 2/20/2011 but i guess i can get something of a discount if i upgrade to another 2 years with an 18 dollar fee.


Wonder why some people got their dates pushed up to next month.

You can downgrade your contract as low as you like after 90 days, I think it is, any way.

I liked some older speculation that referred back to a kooky Apple patent saying that the edges of a phone could detect your heartrate or something by having a special, sensitive edge. but there needed to be breaks in that outside edge to work.

that would be totally nuts if that was the reason for those seams.

i wouldnt be so sure yet. this latest set of pics just looks like the same one earlier from Vietnam. they can still change it up!! they probably allow for easier assembly on these prototypes..
