Thought it was a terrible episode.

That was the worst version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ever. Holy shit what an awful performance. Finn always sucks, but this was especially awful.

I actually liked the way the scene with Santana and her grandma played out. Despite the grandma never appearing on the show until now.

I hope neither Kurt or Rachel get into Nyada. It'd be so much more interesting to see what they would do if they didn't get in.

I did not feel any part of this episode in the slightest. Finn's performance of that song was absolutely cringe-worthy.

I found the grandmother's issue with Santana's sexuality incredibly flat and shallow. She didn't really give a good reason for her bias, just basically asked her to leave and "never come back." While I understand the show's message of being yourself and not caring what others think, closeted kids looking up to these characters for guidance are going to have a hard time coming out to people when those who oppose them aren't just one-dimensional stereotypes that offer no explanation for their views and beliefs.
It was a shock for me when I was coming out, at least
. I understand reactions such as these do indeed happen, but the writers should take this opportunity to tackle the issues in a different way. Not, "I'm Christian and old and everyone has secrets - now get out!" It comes across as a lazy way to handle a situation like that. Naya did knock that scene out of the park though and I like how she didn't get all weepy and nervous before telling her, and stood her ground after the shit hit the fan - it's consistent with her character.

That poor Irish kid. Did he know that his multi-episode arc would entail single episode about him, then the rest of him sitting in the background looking new and confused?

It really seemed like the writers STARTED this season with intention of introducing new characters and building them to eventually replace the old cast, then figured it would be easier to just find ways to keep the old cast around. They've been dropping the ball on developing anyone other than Rachel, Kurt and Santana, all who already had pretty strong characterizations. There is potential for Blaine to be something more than "the guy who can kill you with his kindness" and some of his inner insecurities bubbled up in First Time, but they haven't really done anything else with it. Hopefully those come back once Sebastian re-enters the picture.

While I love Jane Lynch, Sue is all but irrelevant now and, in true Glee fashion, ended her season arc with an absolute whimper. What is she gonna do now? Speaking of which, what did Will actually DO to help Burt win the election? (Not that I'm complaining - less Will makes for a better Glee).

Love Beiste - they need to continue to develop her more.

They will probably touch back on her grandma. I didn't think it was shallow, I mean like you said it does happen irl so I think sending a message to closeted people that everyone will accept them when they come out would be damaging to some. The real message was that there are people even family members that wont accept you but that shouldnt stop you from accepting yourself.

It makes perfect sense. It's a lock unless Lea decides otherwise.

I meant that it wouldn't make a while lot of sense from a *cough*realistic*cough* perspective. Not that I'm expecting realism from this show, but Nyata has a very limited number of slots, and there are dozens of more talented people in contention for those slots. IRL Kurt and Rachel would have 0 chance. School play lead/student president or not.

But from a show perspective, I think it could work for a while. I would watch it anyway. :/

The only things I didn't like about last night's episode were: The girls singing "I Kissed a Girl" in response to that creepy jock's comments, all the stuff Finn did for Santana and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". The grandma stuff did feel a little bit flat but I wasm't bothered too much by it because Santana was looking fierce.

In other news:
Ricky Martin
is coming to Glee!
LOL. I thought there weren't going to be any more stunt castings this season.

God, Ricky Martin is sexy, I can't wait for it. Stripper Chord Overstreet and now Ricky Martin. Thank you, television gods.

Perfect was great and I hate every single Kurt song (and tolerate Blaine songs).

You may be too close to the crumb, as it were, to see it. But Glee's third season is a mess.

What does that mean? Should I stop liking it? People have said that every year.

Look, like what you like and hate what you hate, but don't presume to tell me that what I think is full of heart is full of crap. I know the net causes people to be assholes, but think before you post.

Again, to me this season has been the best one and I feel it's full of heart. I know what I meant to the the first go round.

I love how they left New Directions because of line distribution yet they dominate all of their songs.

whatever, the mashup was hot. Mercedes and Santana sing very well together. Probably the best pairing on the show. I hope we continue to get Mercedes/Santana songs after this Troubletones plot is done.

(wow, this is the first genuine compliment of the show I've had all season...)

Tina on lead vocals??? FINALLY

EDIT: And Artie too!? About fucking time. He's always been my favorite male vocal on the show since season 1. Love a nice baritone...

Eh, the Troubletones overall vocal was better, but the New Directions seem to be allowed to have a neverending set...

I LOVED tonight's episode. I think it has been my favorite so far. The only complaint I have is that Sam's return happened too fast but I'm not going to say anything since I got to see him in those shorts in the first minutes of the show. During season 2 I felt Sam was boring and I wasn't too bothered by his absence but I was glad too see him tonight.

Angry!Blaine was so hot, I can't even. He looked really short next to Finn though.

Tina singing, fucking finally! And having actual lines!

Quinn returning to normal!

I'm sorry but both the Unitards and the Troubletones were better than ND. Can we trade Damian with Lindsay? She seriously kills it everytime she's on stage. I hope we get to see Harmony again sometime.

So is Sugar going to be with New Directions too? What's going to happen with Shelby?

My favorite song of the night was "We Are Young".

Tina had more to do in this episode than the last two seasons combined.

I actually liked some of the performances this episode. I Will Survive/Survivor and the last one were pretty good.

New Directions' performances were terrible. Treble Tones were robbed.

Also why am I still watching this show? Ugh :(
