is kurt so delusional he can't tell that blain is so much better at him at singing and more right for the lead? Still the most awful person and character on the show. narcissistic and annoying.

I like the continutity with many of the stories and having a presidental race + school play overarching plot is a nice touch, other than the Sectionals --> Regionals --> Nationals overplayed nonsense of the last two seasons.
It's also nice to see characters trying other things outside of singing and dancing, namely Brit/Kurt running for office and Artie directing the school play. I also like Beaste and Emma as co-directors for the musical. It'll also give good reason for the filling out of the play's cast - Beaste mentioned her making the football team star as members of the Jets.
Some really great expression moments for the characters - Emma nervously looking at Beaste's shoes while they were on her desks and Artie's gag at Beaste's mention of her "lady parts."
It seems like they're doing a lot of different things with the characters that might help them grow - which is a nice touch.
I also completely agree Sue has become the epitome of a one-trick pony at this point. The show needs a new villian DESPERATELY.

The right songs were chosen for the scenarios presented. Wouldn't it be weird to have Rachel singing a Katy Perry song for an audition for "West Side Story?" And they had Kurt sing the Barbra song to make a point about him not being right for the role of Tony (not masculine enough, etc.).
Don't worry though, the story is going in such a bad place that we will have at lest 5 top 40 songs in each of the next 3 or 4 episodes to distract from their crappy writing!

Yeah, I paused on the tramp stamp last night to see if that's really what it was. I still think they should have written him out of the show. He obviously wants to sing and dance but it's just coming off really creepy these days. Gwyneth Paltrow can pull it off in a way that isn't creepy. So did NPH. Doesn't matter if the teacher is male or female, I'm just tired of his stories.

Ugh, I don't even know what to say about this show. The first half of the first season was some of the freshest and most enjoyable television I'd watched in years, but now here we are just a couple years later and watching the next episode feels like a chore. I hope they can just go back to basics and give us another good season, but I really doubt they can. The two episodes so far haven't impressed me, though the premiere wasn't bad.

I don't understand the hate. This episode wasn't as good as the first season, but I thought it was still better than the entirety of last season. The show is actually dealing with continuity again, and actually has different story lines than the basic Schu vs. Sue and road to regionals bullshit. I'm liking the season so far, just wish they would lose some of the showtunes.
It's showing a rich kid who gets everything she wants using something else to her advantage. If anything it is perpetuating the rich kid stereotype.
