Kratos can kick off another PlayStation crossover.

As reported by Press Start, a conversation between Kratos and Mimir in God of War Ragnarok references the Ghost of Sparta's role as a PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale character. The amusing exchange occurs when the player is exploring Midgard via sled, with Mimir inquiring about a tournament that Kratos took part in long ago. This battle allegedly involved, "beasts, scoundrels, princesses, the undead, automatons and history’s greatest musician," though Kratos refuses to elaborate further. A Press Start interview with Narrative Director Matt Sophos confirms that this conversation references PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and its various playable heroes like Uncharted's Nathan Drake, Fat Princess and PaRappa from PaRappa the Rapper.
Developed by SuperBot Entertainment and Bluepoint Games, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale served as PlayStation's answer to other crossover fighting games like Super Smash Bros. by pitting PlayStation mascots like Kratos, Nathan Drake and Sly Cooper against each other. While a possible PlayStation All-Stars 2 has been rumored for years, the first game's lukewarm reception means that it currently remains the first and last entry in the crossover series. The 2012 platform brawler did manage to introduce some innovative mechanics to the genre, however, like players exclusively defeating enemies using Super Moves. Rather than knocking their opponents off the stage, battles are won by fighting to build up energy and then unleashing a unique attack to eliminate the competition.
Not as annoying as Namco making Akuma canon to the Tekken Series in Tekken 7 but still pretty silly.
But maybe this means PSABR2 will be coming out soon? Then again, the biggest problem with the last game was not being able to get PS associated iconic characters so probably not. Granted, now they can add more new characters like Astrobot, Horizon girl and so on.
