A number of tweets reposted a deleted trailer for God of War Ragnarok, suggesting the game was originally going to release on November 11th, 2022.

Probably decided it wasn't worth the hassle from Xbox fanboys, or the pettiness it would create from the Sony fanboys.

As it would just be unpleasantness all round that would over shadow the important news, the game itself.

Plus we would get loads of click bait articles and youtuber videos most likely too.

They probably thought it wasnt worth being petty, and divide the potential sales they could get with this being the major holiday release by making die hard xbox fans mad, who would otherwise purchase.

Word on the streets is that 11/11 is Abandoned release date (soon to be announced on a PlayStation Experience big event) and Sony is not taking the risk of the 'head to head' and GoW loosing sales.

Either was that or that guy @Vyne platform wars thread..

Lol, they don't care about that. Stanfield ain't even coming till next year.

Wednesday is a better day and in theme with the game. It's "his day" after all.

. . .financially it would have been dumb, with both companies basically blunting the impact each other had. Would have made for some interesting (and cringe worthy) threads though.

Phil tweeted Cory something nice when he was having his latest meltdown on twitter and that probably changed the date. Killed em' with kindness.

11/9 launch allows for an extra two days of sales and logged gameplay hours for the first week which will look great on financial reports, Sony infographics, and pure bragging rights.

Jim is always thinking, plotting, and scheming. Visionary.

Of course it was. All their big releases are on Fridays but they didn't want to deal with that smoke so they changed it last minute.

Odin Day my ass.

if was kaz hirai, he would not only release on 11 but make fun of Microsoft in the process, jumbos needs to go he's to nice

Probably was decided before original starfield release date and then they changed once starfield release date became known.

Sony knew they could not compete with the powerhouse of Bethesda/Howard.

this but unironically... I don't know why Bethesda's games are so popular, but they are... it's bizarre, but even Fallout 76 is making them money

They chose the 9th because so they could delay to the 11th not because they want to spite anyone, but because the game needs 2 more days of polish

Jokes.

Interesting that they went with a Wednesday. Haven't all of Sony's big release over the last few years been out on a Friday?

Yes, that's another thing that makes it weird

Sony just avoided the 11th because they are being weak cucks, tbh.

Yeah, makes sense. Why they are doing a Wednesday, I'll never know. Odin's Day is a weak reason. Why not Thursday for Thor's Day?
