Well deserved. Glad it wasn't Gravity. Cuaron deserved best director and it should get all the technical ones but it isn't the best film of the year. All Is Lost did survivalism better

I think white guilt is one of the primary reasons 12 Years is popular. It isn't terrible by any means, but it's blatant smarmy Oscar bait.

Actually it's not smarmy Oscar bait at all, but I do think the subject matter is the major reason it's so highly praised rather than the quality of the movie itself. Then again, like I said before, I don't like McQueen's movies.

Congrats defensive GAF of their Fassbender Cumberbatch love.

It's not the worst example, no. You probably said it better though. This year wasn't loaded with Lincoln, thank god!

It isn't Oscar bait at all. Also can we stop throwing around that term? It's so needlessly dismissive and stupid.

Nah, I'm sure a room full of Jews just get together and decide where they want to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to win a gold plated trophy. Makes perfect sense if you think about it.

You know whats an incredible award show? The Tony Awards. I just thought of how much better of a production those are over something like this.

See, Brad PItt deserved to have his face on the poster.

Just saw someone on my timeline say it won because people feeling "obligated" to vote for it. UGH...

Yes, like film affirmative action is a thing. UGH...

I think yall are on to something. It felt like no one really gave a damn about this award show. It just felt like it ended abruptly. Something really off about it.
