Yup. People will play this and realize what I and very few others at the time realized. The game sucks.

I doubt it's stood the test of time. The AI is as dumb as a box of rocks, and it's all auto aim.
But it's Bond, and damn is he sorely missed.

Maybe they have a remake/remaster in works? It was one of the most iconic games that generation along with MGS, RE, Zelda OOT etc and it took 1st person shooters to another level for consoles.

It was Halo before Halo. And no bitching about the controls; I actually played holding a trident in each hand for dual stick action. In reality, it kind of broke the single player game due to the enemy limitations.

That's how I played it as a child, so no difference to me... Also the minigames + Mario Kart 64 + GoldenEye is the perfect nostalgia party for me and my friends online, which happen to be all in the same family group

Yeah I was gonna say, Doom, Golden Eye, Halo, COD were all genre changing/defining moments for 1st person shooters on consoles.

For PC, Id say add titles like Quake 1&3, Half Life 1&2, Unreal Tornement, System Shock, Counter Strike Etc

We always knew it would just be the unreleased 360 version that was leaked(probably intentionally) in 4K.

Is that what the version being released on Xbox is? I was under the impression that the leaked 360 remaster included new textures and gameplay tweaks but that the game announced today is basically just Goldeneye 4k with none of the changes from the leaked remaster. Am I confused? (This is an honest question, not a rhetorical one.)

Since the Switch version is going to be part of the Switch Online N64 catalog, it's almost definitely going to be an emulated version of the OG game with the only differences being the result of the emulator and the core features standard to Switch Online games (like online multiplayer).

You want a physical version, you'd have to buy an N64 cart.
