WOW! I can't beleive this is Nintendo 64...

Some of those GE DS shots look good, others are a little bad on the eyes. It's mostly the backgrounds that stand out in the 'needs improvement' area.

What they should have done was made it a top-down shooter like Ikari Warriors

But with DUAL SCREENS

And you could TOUCH! to throw a grenade!

What are the chances that EA provides enough funds to make thus game good? Maybe EA is thinking they can cash in quickly with a cheap port on the Ds.

They look a lot sharper than the game I remember..
yes, because its played on an emulator at much higher resolution than the n64, and with better graphic cabalities. that, and its a poorly compressed image which makes it grainy.

haha, that would be fun. But I would like a a Time Crisis shooter where you tap to shoot, shoulder buttons to hide and having shout RELOAD to reload. That would be pretty cool.

LOOKS TWICE AS good as Goldeneye 64, which is pretty good for hardware that is only 10 percent better....

I can't really agree with that. Some of it looks better, some of it looks alot worse. Certainly don't look better than Perfect Dark imo anyways but that was released pretty late on in the N64s life.

EA Announces GoldenEye: Rogue Agent for the Nintendo DS; Villains Rule in Latest Edition in James Bond Videogame Series

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. April 7, 2005. Electronic Arts today announced plans to release GoldenEye: Rogue Agent for the Nintendo DS this June. Going where no previous James Bond game has dared tread, this first-person shooter gives players the chance to explore the dark side of the Bond universe and experience life as a ruthless, unpredictable villain. All-new features and innovative gameplay are only made possible by the Nintendo DS platform.

"We are thrilled to bring GoldenEye: Rogue Agent to the Nintendo DS and create distinctive new features to benefit from the platform's unique technology," said Jon Dean, Executive Producer at EA Tiburon. "Playing this action-packed game on the go and right in the palm of your hands is incredible. Bond fans will not be disappointed."

As an aspiring 00 agent dismissed from MI6 for reckless brutality, the player is recruited by Auric Goldfinger in a ruthless war against Dr. No for control of the Bond underworld. Players wreak havoc as they make their unrelenting rise through the ranks of villainy. On globe-spanning missions of vengeance and demolition, players encounter such legendary Bond characters as Oddjob, Dr. No, Goldfinger, Scaramanga, and Xenia Onatopp.

Gamers outwit villainous rivals and battle it out in the intense wireless multiplayer mayhem with up to seven other players using only one cartridge, a unique feature for the Nintendo DS. The game also features a robust single-player campaign divided into six missions. Players can exploit multiple weapon combinations through the dual-wield gunplay system, or go head-to-head, melee-style, by taking enemies hostage or knocking them out with one punch.

The dual-screen display provides a gameplay window on the top screen and the heads-up-display on the touch screen. The HUD provides vital intelligence to players and allows for them to check ammunition levels, hack electronic devices and weapons, decode security locks, and more. In the all-new for DS 'Virtual Training' mode, players sharpen their lethal edge and gain experience by defeating infamous Bond villains in order to earn valuable upgrades for their GoldenEye weaponry. Left and right-handed gameplay controls, plus stylus and thumb-pad play, take full advantage of the platform's unique touch-screen capabilities.

Officially licensed by MGM Interactive, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent for the Nintendo DS is developed at EA's Tiburon studio under the EA GAMES brand. The game is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB.

GoldenEye: Rogue Agent is also available on the PlayStation(R) 2 computer entertainment system, Xbox(R) video game system from Microsoft, and Nintendo GameCube(TM). For more information, please visit the game's official site at www.goldeneye.ea.com or press site at www.info.ea.com.
I hope that's not clever wording for "touch screen menu commands" and it means we get stylus movement.

I'm actually appalled that some of you seem to be psyched for this title. Have you even played it on any of the consoles yet? It's an absolute turd. Easily this gen's worst FPS. Unless it's been totally re-tooled in the DS version, I'd avoid it like the plague.

This isn't the PSP, the game has to be re-tooled.

You haven't been told, apparently, that GE: RA is only about 128 MB in size. ;)

just watched the trailer. im impressed. never played the console versions, but frankly, if they were at least as good as Nightfire, or AUF, then they were pretty decent if not amazing.

I'll pick this up.

Also IGN confirms touch screen control.

Looks better and smoother than I would have thought. I'm still sure the game will blow, however.

They are no where near as good as Nightfire or AUF. I liked both of those. GE(console) is just complete crap. One of the worst games I've played in years.

"GE(console) is just complete crap. One of the worst games I've played in years."

And how old were you when it came out?

lol @ the trailer and how DUAL WIELD is a feature. The FMV video looks sharp as does the game - I expect it to look brilliant on a DS

The need to fix the animation and they need to show a trailer that shows off vertical aiming. It seemed like everything was on a horizontal axis.
