well all this fancy new stuff would be nice if i didnt have to buy a new phone to get a new version of android because the phone manufacturers can't be bothered to update the OS on phones that arent brand new.

Hopefully, this is going to be addressed. Fragmentation is a concern and there was talk of slimming down the bare Android OS to include less apps so we can update browser, media player, etc. without a whole new OS install.

I think the only thing that covered was the browser build thing.

Oh god the ponies :lol
No, the V8 engine was part of Froyo. The online cloud syncing was “future” though from what I remember.

No no, after the V8 demo there was something else that they couldn't quite get to work. Forgot what it was already.

Edit: now this is how advertising is done. Sorry Jobs.

what they need to do, and its insane they havent done it this way from the start, is compeltely modularise all of the manufacturer/cell company specific stuff from the OS, so I can upgrade the OS by myself and all phones have the latest android version, like it is with the iphone.

i'm pretty much stuck with 1.5 for at least another year because motorola arent going to bother updating their phones in europe.

Well, most of this stuff seems "almost" done. Just imagine when it's release in Q4... o_O
