I think the one--handability of the regular Pixel is a key advantage to people.
I have bigger hands so the bigger phones such as XL don't bother me too much but I have become accustomed to the size of the Nexus 5x which if I remember is slightly bigger than a regular Pixel. I really don't need a 2560 x 1440 res screen, I mean sure it looks great but I don't do VR or gaming much so eh... leaning more towards the regular pixel the more I think about it.

I'm 6'3, 200+, somewhat big hands. The XL is big but hard to use one handed. But I've adapted.
If one handed use is really important, then the xl ain't the phone. You should go into the Verizon store to check it out. But the screen is really good and i hear the battery is better for the xl. I'm only getting 4-5 hours of screen time so i would hate to get less with the regular pixel.

When I plug my phone in to charge with the wall adapter it will flash between charging rapidly and not charging about 4 times before it stabilizes and stays charging.
Anyone else noticed this?

It's doze. Android puts every app to sleep after a while with screen off and laying around if you didn't choose the option to "not optimize" it.
Settings -> Battery -> 3 dots menu in the top right -> Battery Optimization
Ok, I've turned off optimization for Gmail, Hangouts and Chomp. Hopefully that will help! Thanks!
I did that on my N6, but I let it sleep on the 6P and Pixel. I always check every half an hour, so this is no problem to me!
I like the Spigen case, a good light source on the table ^^

Isn't this phone advertised as charging to full battery in 15 minutes? That's not been the case for me since I've had the phone. 15 minutes barely gets me from 10 to 20%. Is there a fast charge setting I've missed somewhere?

they claim you get 7 hours of battery life in 15 minutes of charging. which is a very fuzzy metric because how much time you actually get depends on how you use your device. but i notice it charges super quick compared to my nexus 6.
So I got a small scratch in the corner of my screen somehow 
. It's not that annoying but I can still notice it at times. I could take it to best buy and probably exchange it for a new one since I'm still within the return period but I'd rather not. Anyone know of a good way to get rid of small scratches?

IMO don't buy the XL for more screen on time because it doesn't seem to be much better in that regard. Heavy users will not see much difference.
However, the XL will last much longer in standby if you really need a phone that can stretch to two days with low to moderate use.
I'm a heavy user and am getting 4 - 5 hours of screen on time with my regular Pixel and used to get 2 on my 5x.

I have a Pixel XL 32GB, my phone randomly disconnects from my home WiFi (only device in house that does it), when the screen is off, it's always disconnected and I have to wait for it to connect again every time I use it. And it does not connect to any open WiFi spot at all, it just "saves" it, when I go to try and connect again, it does nothing. Does anyone else have these problems or is it just me?

My Pixel hasn't arrived yet so I dunno if the phone glows or that case does. I haven't read anything about either having that feature.

I have it. It does glow, like a fiber optic cable. But that picture looks better than mine but the contrast might be better in close to darkness.
The bottom of the case does glow. I just need to order a tempered glass screen.

I've had just about every Nexus since the 4, and trust me, there absolutely is no comparison. The Pixel is an entirely different beast. After all, Google has worked hard specifically on touch latency and it shows.

That's fine, but that's not the point I was responding to, which was "everyone's been asking for [faster speeds] forever" and I disagreed.
The XL has better battery life. That's pretty much universally agreed on. There's a bunch of side by side tests on YouTube but if the pixel users are saying they get 4-5 hours of screen on time, I get 6-7 with my XL. Granted it definitely depends on what you are doing with it but I play a lot of granblue fantasy and use twitch a decent amount so it's not like I'm just looking at the home screen.
To be honest ... I don't know
Have the Liquid Crystal case. Made a video with flashlight, paused it and put it on the tablet. Didn't expect that and thought it was cool

I am with you. This was one thing that really really annoyed me with my iPhone. The sound wasn't loud enough and imbalanced.
The sound of the 7/7+ is so much better.
I have podcasts/videos on in the background while I do other stuff quite a lot so it's a big difference for me.
I am loving this phone, but I have noticed one problem a couple times in the past week. There have been two instances in which I pressed the recent apps button and the screen went black for several seconds. The navigation buttons at the bottom were visible, but the device was completely unresponsive for about five seconds. I use the beta version of Nova Launcher instead of the Pixel launcher, so I don't know if it's related to that. I was curious if any of the rest of you had experienced the same thing.

I still have both models and have heavily used each. If I power use the shit out of them both I will see an extra half hour more or so of SOT on the XL.
The soc has to work a bit harder on the XL. Obviously the more you incorporate standby in the comparison that starts widening the gap more. The standby is ridiculously good on the XL.
Obviously this is just my usage but it shouldn't be too far off for some. I should also state A LOT of my usage is with chrome.
Ugh. Had an issue with timely this morning. The alarm went off but it was so ridiculously quiet that I slept right through it.
Alarm volume was set fine, testing the alarm through the settings menu was ok but an actual alarm going off was super quiet. Rebooting the phone didn't help either. Ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the timely app and then it was ok. So weird. This only happened once with my old phone in the couple years I've been using timely and it was system wide. The alarm volume was just completely stuck off. A phone reboot fixed it.
I need to be able to trust these alarms!

I'm a fairly conservative user, and my battery time has been very good, much longer than any phone I've used.
I had taken screenshots for the first few days at the end of the night when I'd go to bed:

Over 4 days, I was getting projected 35ish hours of powered on time. Even this weekend while using it more often, I was getting similar battery performance.
Today, I've been unplugged for 3 hours, and I'm expected to get 1day 5hours more out of it. I'll report back at the end of the workday.
I'm probably more conservative than a power user who is on his phone all day, though. But for some perspective, my iPhone 5 and Nexus 6 would usually need to be charged by the end of the day... Like hitting 5% battery, or I'd charge twice. So far with the Pixel XL I've finished every day with somewhere around 50-55%.

It's bothering me that half the icons on my home screen are the new 'circle' pixel style, while half aren't. Particularly it bugs me with apps like Google Inbox, official Google apps, that didn't get the new icon treatment.
Is there anything I can do about this without having to add another launcher? I like using the default launcher... and I know there are icon packs and stuff but I'm so out of the game I don't know how those work.

But no doubt, the actual functionality and the day-to-day use is top-of-the-pack on the Android side; and in many ways beats Samsung's devices in creating a true iPhone competitor.
Funny, though, that this impressive device seems to have caught the media by surprise. I feel like I've seen countless articles and comments praising this phone after these same sites published their reviews ages ago.
It's almost as if that the talk of this phone has become increasingly more positive, and journalists are wanting "in" on that hype.

Has anybody tested whether the Pixel can cast to your smart tv natively? I was able to send pictures/video/etc to my tv fine with my Galaxy Note 2 but cannot with my Nexus 6. I had to download AllCast in order to do this on my Nexus 6 which is kind of lame.

There is a "Cast" option in the Settings -> Display and when you click on it, it shows nearby things you can cast to. Currently I'm at work so I can't see if it would work with my Samsung TV by default.
Sounds like Miracast isn't supported out of the box though.
Got notification from Verizon that they've processed my free Daydream headset offer. However, it said they're sending a rebate card for it. So, sounds like I'll get the card then have to go buy it myself with the card. Was hoping they'd just send the headset. Wouldn't be surprised if it's back ordered pretty quickly once it goes up on Google's store.
That's exactly how my email sounded too. Now I'm not sure if should just pocket the $80 or buy the headset lol.
I was definitely one of the first to cash in, I got my phone a day early somehow.

My Pixel XL arrived today, goddamn it's fast.
I've had my XL for a week now and I've simply astounded by how great it's been.There has been a very noticeable upgrade compared to my 6P in terms of both performance and battery life. I can go most of the day (16 hours) without charging with moderate use and still have 25ish percent when it's time for bed (stream all my music, chrome, facebook, some youtubing/twitch here and there).
The phone is still new so it's hard to say if these levels will persist over time but damn, this thing is impressive. I'm definitely looking forward to the next model which is bound to include even more bells and whistles.
