DS am cry.

dssad3il.jpg

Pros:

* First Sony thing I ever used where copying music WASN'T a huge pain in the ass.
* Movies were easy: Rip, encode, drag. Now all I need is 1 GB mem pro duo...
* Even boots as drive on my Mac.
* Screen. Drool. Repeat.
* Form factor. just like holding a solid brass PS2 controller.
* 802.whatever
* Launch games - Lumines, Ridge, Golf, etc.
* OS - I like fucking around pointlessly in the OS. What can I say.
* Playing games with REAL music on a handheld is revelatory.
* People think I am better than they are now.
* It doesn't NEED any PC software. Drag. Drop. Woot.
* Sandisk brand media.
* Battery life. Turns out that on a 10 hour flight, 5+ hours is a a MASSIVE amount.

Cons:

* Speaker
* Fingerprints/Smears/jizz-stains
* Disco leather hand strap.
* Sony brand media.

PS: I had a DS. First it was fun. Then it am cry. So I sold it.

You missed the huge ass sticky dude.

Congrats on the PSP purchase. I'm having a tough time holding off and not importing one.

PS - Why are you using Chespace blog pic? Trying to help give a visual aid?

I just returned my unopened NDS today because I realized it wasnt worth the money now. PSP get whenever it comes out :D

without a doubt. Make a GC add-on that lets you play Mario/Zelda DS and be done with the stupid thing.

I HAVE A FEELING DS WILL BE CRYING A LOT IN THE COMING MONTHS. I'M RIGHT, I'M RIGHT
wrong....

The PSP has much better hardware, but isn't very much available. Sony isn't going to change this very soon (they lose a lot on one PSP). By the time the PSP is wide available the DS has sold huge amounts and doesn't care anymore about PSP.

It's like Xbox vs PS2

It's hardly like Xbox vs PS2. From a pure hardware standpoint, it's practically N64 vs PS2.

But... the PSP is going to rule, Right, right?!

It's 50%, if you say you are right others say you are wrong...

I have no idea which handheld will sell more, and I'm not the one predicting:

That's like saying that nobody is going to care about hot chicks running around asking to give free blowjobs in 3 months because everyone already has a cup of coffee, and coffee suits us just fine for leisure purposes.

THAT'S RIGHT BITCHES

Nintendo DS = Hot coffee (good coffee too, maybe even a Gingerbread Latte)
PSP = Blowjob from hot chick (Maybe Jessica Biel)

DS is still having momentum and PSP isn't going to get more sales than 100.000 a week, because there aren't more PSP consoles produced.
If NDS keeps that momentum, then NDS is going to take a huge lead. Very simple...

Uh-huh. Believe what you will.

Who are your sources at Sony that are giving you this information about the 100K per week? Just curious as to whether you actually have some, or are just talking out of your ass.

The fact that the DS is currently selling more and has "momentum" doesn't change the fact that the PSP kicks the shit out of it.

But, but but...How will you play Yoshi's Touch & Go? You'll miss it, and then you'll come crawling back and soon your DS and PSP will live in harmony.

They are both shit. What games are there combined? :lol

Not counting GBA backwards compatibility

Wario Ware Touched, Band Brothers, Mario 64 DS, Hitofude and Zoo Keepers. That's hard to beat.

Naw, Lumines, Ridge Racers, Metal Gear Ac!d, Minna No Golf, and Vampire Chronicles are hard to beat. The PSP had a far better software launch; there's pretty much something for everyone.

Shouldn't this thread be closed now with the sticky at the top? :)

Unlike weirdo Nintendo fans, I could give a shit less about which company sells more or makes more money off of me. I have this weird trait that makes me not care. I do however care about what I think will give me the most out of my purchase, and hands down, that will be the PSP. I tried the DS and did not like it at all. Especially having to use the fucking screen to control my character, wtf is that stupid shit?

PSP for me in a landslide.

It's pretty subjective, but since aside from Lumines you can play all of those games without having a PSP...
I'm not trying to downplay Lumines but the DS has already shown to be the far better puzzle game system. I can't get enough of Hitofude at the moment.

The PSP launch games kick the crap out of the DS, without a doubt :(

Yup. That about sums it up for me, too... except the fact that I haven't seen ONE DS game that even slightly interests me.

Geez people, Ridge Racers isn't *THAT* amazing. It's good, but not good enough to override several DS or GBA games for that matter.
Ridge Racers is a gem, clearly one of the best in the series, but that doesn't make it a flagship game. Really, with all those PSP titles in mind, Wario Ware still wins.

Ridge Racers >>>>>>>>>>> Ridge Racer 64... err... Ridge Racer DS.

Why NST got to shame the license twice is still beyond me.

Both do the same,nintendo and sony fans.Not one and not the other.

As for controling characters with the screen,surely they'll come up with something more inovative in the future,I hope.

But using the touch screen for controling a game like advance war or fire emblem should prove to be great.

The DS looks so pre-age compared to the PSP. The PSP flat out ownz the DS in just about every way.

Nobody is debating whether RRDS is better than Racers. I think it's quite clear at this point that Ridge Racers stands among its giant brothers in the series. But even the best Ridge Racer, and this coming from a huge RR fan, doesn't match-up with Wario Ware in terms of quality.

Uh oh. Long thread coming. Better move this to sticky.

Well Ridge Racers better be good since it looks like it'll be the best thing on PSP for a pretty long time.

Huge lead? :lol Your now speaking from the fanboyism inside you and not the logical mind that you carry. Accept it dude, the DS has no chance in hell to outsell the PSP...admit it, Nintendo F'd up with the DS....they should of never released such a device with PSP that much better then the DS.

I dunno... THUG2 looks freaking amazing, and being able to legitimately play Hawk on the go certainly has my attention.

Has he got all those mp3s playing properly? They look like he's dragged them over in folders. I tried that but they didn't play.

Whats your secret? Or don't they play on yours either?

Aren't you getting tired of trolling this same old topic already? Isn't it time to move onto something else? :lol

Just format your Memory Stick Duo and you'll get a music folder you can simply drag and drop MP3 files to when you enter USB mode. It's that easy. :)

Yeah, I had the no music/vid folders for some reason when I first put the (inlcuded) memory stick in. Formating it added the correct directories.

Besides Lumines, is the PSP launch really that impressive? I mean, is anything new in Vampire Chronicles? Hot Shots Golf and Ridge Racer are plentiful on PS2, does the PSP versions offer anything that can't be found? The biggest reason I want a PSP now is that I can use it as a portable mp3 player and movie player. Portable Naruto = hot.

Not to see that the US NDS launch was hot. SM64DS, FTM, and MD:DS were the only good titles. But the Japanese launch was a bit more impressive and fresh in my opinion.
