Welp, just got the X1 (thanks Seks!) and it feels really, really out of place... being able to lap cars around Indy in less than five laps in the Dream Car championship and lap La Sarthe in under 3 minutes is just bizarre. Feels like it throws any sense of realism that PD achieved with the other 999 cars completely out the door.

The seasonal events are a joke without restrictions. Although I don't mind the extra Cr & XP.

Exactly. Without the seasonal events, there is a ridiculous amount of grinding necessary to progress as you get in the higher 20's and of course the 30's.
We deserve to have a break and get these rewards easily.

Ok, so it was pre-tuned... What's the difference in bhp between the two?
I wonder if it's possible to make a tune to make vanilla sls AMG 10 almost the same as the one "tuned by Gran Turismo team". I'm in LOVE with how the car handles in the intermediate AMG challenge, so if someone has any idea on how to make such a tune please share it! I'd rather no having to shop on ebay for preorder code.
I also haven"t checked if it's possible to mount the wing on the vanilla one, can somone check if it's availavle in the tuning shop since I'm away from my PS3 now...

Holy crap just noticed a face on the back of the X1 when B-specing. Looks like an evil clown face.
Finally saw a sub 1.07 lap time on the Nurburgring GP part of X1 challenge. It makes Monza look like a complete joke. Fuck me, with a pad this has to be one of the hardest things I've played over the last 2 gens of consoles. Hopefully I'll string 2 laps together by the end of the weekend and move on to Suzuka.

I am fine with race restrictions. And I thought the way it was implemented in Prologue was great. But what angers me in GT5 is that you cannot remove engine and weight reduction upgrades. Why why why did they have to do this! It is so annoying to go back and rebuy a car just because you did a weight reduction or some engine upgrade and cannot remove it to quality for a HP/KG restricted race. Especially if it is a standard car, because god knows when it will re-appear in the store again.
The non-removable upgrades, the system for painting cars, and the engine/framework damage system. These are my top 3 anger points about this game!!

Finished Super-GT B-Spec event now, that took 3 hours! My driver coped on his own though with no input from me, and luckily no rain on Suzuka either
Suzuka 1000km in A-spec done. Mazda 787B, 5h 52min. For the last two laps I came out of the cockpit and used the chase cam view, and damn if Suzuka doesn't look beautiful in the bright afternoon sun at a rock solid 60fps.
The GAF Super GT event looked awesome yesterday too, I dropped in on the Justin.tv feed; although it did confirm my fears that my Internet isn't good enough to participate - could barely even stream the race, let alone one day actually play a race online. d'oh.

I've only played as far as the Indy 500 endurance race. And none of the A spec races so far have had time of day changes. It would certainly help make things less boring. But then 6 hours...

Yep, it went from really early morning, to around midday / early afternoon judging from the sun. The light reflections off the orange paint of the 787B bouncing around the cockpit are awesome. The changing sun position made it increasingly difficult to pick out the marker boards on the approach to Casino Triangle after 130R though!
I was also really lucky to get a gorgeous day, it's variable weather so you could get it completely raining or really misty.
Made it to lvl 23 today. And currently trying to get Beckenbauer past 10. He is learning how to effectively outbreak opponents. The AI is really refined it seems, they really seem to have split out various behaviors and add/improve each individually as the driver levels up.
New car I love driving: Alpine 110 and the IMiev.
I just love slower cars. But the sound in the IMiev needs to die in a fire.
And we need a FF/RW for replay photo mode, even if its just the immediate 2-3 seconds. Also, they need to get rid of the paint chip pop up with confirmation, make it an overlay on the side that says "New Paint Chip: Blue". Also they need to change/get rid of the new car buy sequence where the car is all in the dark and you only see headlights. Either get rid of it or brighten it up so you can actually see the car.

Tried the FGT event today...
Fugi: close, but gold
Indy road: easy gold
Cote d'Azur: AI crashed me + I crashed some more to desperately catch up (became 6th). Also, I hate that track.
Ring GP: My FGT was already feeling noticeable worse at this point. Had some heavy crashes with the AI in the last chicane. Had to cheat there in the last few laps to win.
Monza: Seemed like an easy gold, but then I randomly spun out and was long off the track near the end of the race and only managed to come in at 7th. At this point my car was pretty much destroyed = hard to drive and engine response was shit.
Suzuka: My concentration&motivation was already down, combined with the now shitty car (while the AI don't seem to be affected by damage) I made many mistakes and after only like 5 laps the first was half a minute ahead. After another spin I just raged-quit. FUCK YOU.
I was lucky and some of my direct competition got only few points so I got 2nd place.
I was so pissed during the last few races, screaming and cursing. Then I was thinking "great, now I have to spend 1mio to repair the car and try that shitty event again in the faaaaar future".
But to my surprise silver was enough to get the prize car and trophy for completing the Extreme Series. I only didn't get the prize car for the event itself. I think I may never try this race again
Also, I won't touch the Endurance races until there is mid-saving, GT everywhere and or B-Spec speed-up. So from now on it's mostly the weekly seasonal events for me. (if they keep coming).
