Another water-centric event that rewards having an Earth team, but doesn't actually have any rewards for Earth.

Why is this a thing

seriously, every other element have bosses that is weak to the current event element, why is water the only one that's different? sigh..

This event is a dark event. The bosses are dark. The summon is dark.

It's not like the event has bosses that are dark and they drop water stuff, or water bosses that drop dark stuff.

It's a freakin' dark event :lol It's not water-centric in the slightest outside of the super-easy enemies.

Got Sig, done with the event. Actually got the Harpoon from the 300k honor and then again immediately after when I used my remaining tickets lol

We just had a ssr dark event are they really trying to give us another ssr dark(havent looked at the rewards yet)

Since I started events are kind of streaky with the element. Not that it matters too much if its another dark event. A weapon pool isn't made from one weapon, so the two events give a good baseline for a new dark player since their omega SRs are hp boosts instead of attack boosts like the event.

Before people complaints that there were not enough people. Now people complaints that there were too much people.
Sadly win bonus was reduced to 80 shields :(

RNG loves to give me either useless summons or dupe characters whenever I draw SSR in daily 90gc draw. Just got my 3rd friggin Yoda katana...

The reduction was the worst thing. Now that there are too many people it's difficult to gain sufficient shields to even attempt at the share chest.

DO is garbage.

I don't know why they just didn't add a little more time. Of the four i participated in, one was a win and the other three failed due to time on the last boss. Doubling the pool of players seems like an overcompensation.

yep, the ones i failed in failed due to time as well, would've cleared if we had another 5 minutes

Well they said that the entire Defence Order system runs on the start and end time of each one. So I am sure the whole thing would explode and stop working completely if they tried to tweak the maximum length.

still not sure why people get excited to spend that much money.

Well...if people are going to spend money in Granblue, Surprise Tickets are usually considered one of the offers that's worth your money.

At least it's better than doing a Star Legend draw and getting say...a Twin Element or Vortex Dragon summon for your effort.

Let me stop you right there.

Different strokes for different people. Some people feel like buying something will help to progress things a lot faster. Personally speaking I think being able to choose a really valuable character for a game i'm going to invest numerous hours into is worth it. For instance I'd rather pay 30 bucks to ST on Granblue than to say... get Star Ocean 5.

I'm in a weird spot right now where I kind of have a decent water team (Lancelot, Charlotte, Silva) but it's far from something I'd consider great (like Lancelot, Altair and Catalina for instance), but I'd like to branch out into other elements a bit, just to keep things interesting.

So what would you guys do, make my water team a bit better (with Altair since Catalina probably won't be available) or start working on a new element?
I'd really like to go fire since I can easily MVP Omega Colossus and I already have four canes but I don't have a single fire SSR lol. I'd like to go with Percival though, and then Yuel down the line, with Alec filling up the last spot until I get something better.

Still, I do have SSR characters for other Elements like Ayer fot Earth, Birdman for Wind and Seruel for Light. Sara or Petra seem like a good choice for their respective elements, especially Sara. So, any advice?

Ok, I really want to try the game now, but call me stupid I'm also really lost about how to do it. Yes, even with the OP link. Well, you have to understand that I'm an ios user and just switched from firefox to chrome some months ago, so yeah...
Which version of the game is the best to play ? I think I read that the game is web based and so it would seem logical to simply play it on a browser ?
And what about purchases ? If I like the game, how will I be able to purchase in game things or mobamoney ?

Do I have to call you stupid? I'd much prefer to just use your username. But to each their own, I guess.

All versions are the web version, as the app in reality is just a browser. The app's browser is ass so expect some lag between commands and longer loading. I prefer to use Chrome in developer mode(CTRL+SHIFT+I). Since the game is web-based, you can log into your account anywhere, as long as you remember your log in info.

For purchases, I go through the droid app since it uses google wallet. I don't know what web-only and ios users have to do(I'm guessing buying mobacoins from sites?). I do know, if worse comes to worse, that you can just run a droid emulator, put some funds on your google account and buy stuff using the emulated GBF app.

Got Sophie from ST ticket, now I mostly done with light - have Io, Sophie, Sorn and Jeanne. Will probably add Ferry/Amira later on (or hopefully will get them from legfest) for diversity. Pool is also mostly finished and until I can somehow get those materials from HL raids to uncap swords, upgrading guns will net me kinda small improvement in performance.

Now I need to think where to put my efforts next.

Quick talk about progressing in GBF and how it takes form.

Before we start, we'll need to get this out of the way. JP and EN language options have different names for some things, because reasons. Since I learned the terms for JP first, I'll mostly write using those. I'll try to include the EN version as well but just in case:
JP --- EN
Magna --- Omega
Surprise Ticket --- Special Draw set
Start Dash --- Beginner draw
Valor --- Renown

So the definition of progress, taken from the extremely well written Weapon / Summon Optimization guide is:

In Granblue, that easiest indicator of progression is damage.
Your damage will grow with your weapons, summons and classes you master, your allies too will progress alongside you.

So, how do we DO that? Well, as a quick run down we got:

-Attack up weapons
-Leveling weapons/characters
-Limit Breaking/Uncapping weapon(More levels = more stats)
-Max limit breaking summons for stronger leader passives
-Same leveling and limit breaking summons for stats
-+'ing your gear/characters/summons for +1HP/+5ATK for each +
-Valor/Renown farm
-Casino

==Attack up weapons==
The easiest place is from Magna/Omegas. You'll need to be rank 30 to see/do them. The primals of the six elements also have normal and hard mode fights outside of their Magna/Omega version. Only Magna/Omega level fights yield SSRs. You'll start off filling your grid with SR attack ups then replacing them with SSRs. You'll be getting a lot of SR weapons, so skilling them up(To around 5-ish) is fine. Don't forget to max limit break(MLB) them for a boost of damage and HP.

==Leveling weapons/Characters==
Weapons and characters gain stats from leveling. Characters and some weapons will learn new skills as they advance in level in addition to higher HP and attack. Another way to level your weapon is by leveling their skill by feeding them weapons with skills on them. Only some Rs have skills, however, all SR and SSR weapons come with skills on them. I suggest taking a look at this section of the weapon optimization guide to see how many weapons are needed to skill up at each level.

But you can only go so far till...

==Limit Breaking/Uncapping==
For characters and HL(High level) gear, you'll need materials you'll find from the story, magnas, dailies and lots of other places. Weapons normally need a copy of itself to uncap. This makes gacha weapons difficult to limit break for most normal people but they'll still make great stat sticks for awhile.

==Summons==
A lot of people forget that summons also give you stats, so be sure to level and limit break them for more stats. Once a summon is max limit broken, their leader passive skill will change text color and become stronger. Actives can also be powered up from MLB'ing a summon as well.

==+'ing Gear==
The best(Non-whale) way to grab +'s is from the rupie gacha. It's located on the 2nd tab on the gacha/Draw. You'll average around 1-2 a day. It will drain 10k a day to do all 100 pulls. All +'s are not permanent and can be transferred to another for a small fee(keeping the object intact) in case you mess up. Each + will add 1HP and 5 attack to the weapon/character/summon. The cap is +99 for each object.

==Valor/Renown==
Gained from multiplayer raids, used to buy stuff from the shop including magna weapons(Even SSRs) of your choice. Any action that helps the raid in some way will earn you honors towards placing you within the fight. Once you reach specific amount of honor, you will be given valor at the end of the fight. While all you need to do to gain loot is having at least one honor in the fight, it'll take more to earn valor. For Magna fights this start around 2k honors, ending at the full valor payout around 10k honors. Taking R and SR characters instead of SSRs into a primal raid will yield you bonus honors in addition to the base amounts ONLY IF THEY SURVIVE TILL THE END. I suggest having a party of one R and two SRs as you'll gain both R and SR bonus evenly, saving you party slots and switching time. Be sure to take your valor farming team to hard mode(25AP) primal fights once you're strong enough to solo them for easy weekly caps.

==Casino==
Fuck this thing. Start on poker, work your way up to savings 100k-200k then swap to 10-man table @ 10k bets. HOPE TO A HIGHER DEITY THAT YOU GET A SUPER BINGO. Buying potions and Soul seeds are top priority with magna animas being 2nd. Yes it sucks. Enjoy.

==Ending Tips==
-Focus on a team
You'll be forced to run Grande type teams for awhile at the start but you'll have to grow out of that and push towards one element over another for magna farming/summon farming. As long as it's not dark or light, you'll progress at a decent rate. Newer players that hit a magna fest reach such a power spike by the end of the event that they can start MVP'ing easier magna raids.

-Rupie gacha as often as you can safely afford it
Start this as early as you can but don't get back into a corner where you can't limit break characters or weapons. While the +'s will take a lot of time to come, they will come as you play. Power boosts early on from new skills/passives or damage increases from weapon limit breaks will have a more immediate impact.

-If you're willing to spend only a bit of money on the game....
Avoid Star legend gachas. Start dash and surprise tickets are the best value you'll get for your money here. Star legend gachas, while having 100% chance of one SSR appearing, it can be ANY SSR. Expect lots of dupes and useless summons.
Surprise tickets/Start dash both allow you to pick one character from a pool of characters as well as providing an additional 10-pull ticket for the gacha(Save for legend fest). Surprise tickets come by once every 1-2 months. Start dash can only be bought once but it'll come back every single month till you do buy it.

-For an easy time, start in one of the four main elements(Fire-Wind-Earth-Water)
Dark and light Magna weapons have roughly 1/3 of the drop chance of the main four. In case you don't take my word for it, use this picture instead.

-CO-OP early, CO-OP often
Normal modes won't give much money but hard mode will. Can be a pain to spend all the AP on runs but you can leech runs for free! If you can find a room that is. Lots of exp and rupies to be found here. Do the daily for sky blue crystals, you'll need a lot for mid/end game stuff.

That's it for this one. Be sure to read the next one after I write and scrap it about a million times, like I did with this one.

that puzzling face
Let me stop you right there.

The amount of spending I've noticed in this OT vs the other mobage OTs on GAF is actually... pretty above average.

Which is amazing when you consider most have to jump through a few extra hoops vs just charging on US/whatevs iTunes.

Another thing that is largely overlooked - you should plan and start working on Oliver and White Rabbit rather early. Both require resources investment but can be really helpful (especially cutting those 10 mil honour farms).

Oliver bonus by itself seems to be little advantage over Septian Burner (but Burner requires SK10 and Oliver are good from the start), but Oliver has other bonuses - first it allows you to actually use Hawkeye as main class, instead being locked to staff classes (mages and healers). Second all your TH skills will have +1 check, and Hawkeye can have 2 of them (TH3 and TH2 as support), providing HE with 7 TH checks (with +20% success rate due to HE traits), against vanilla 3 checks in case of Septian Burner.

NEVER EVER DO THIS.
Th easy way to increase your frustration from Casino - is to choose wrong strategy.
You should do only Poker and 100k Bingo. Scrap 10k entirely, there no point in doing it at all. 10k Bingo have math expectation barely above poker, but volatility and thus stability of returns are much worse. And you want stability of returns to get to 100k bingo tables.
Fastest strategy is to get to 150k with Poker and then go and play once in Bingo. If you get an early win streak, you are good to go. If you lose - return to poker table.
If you don't want constantly switching you can set a bigger threshold - 500k, 2mil, 5 mil in poker than switch to 100k Bingo. It will be same speed/slower than start bingo at 150k, but you will have room for several loses before going back to poker.
Your goal is to get 10+ millions and after that you should maintain pool of ~15mil to stop worrying about possible losing streaks. Ultimately you should be at 100 mil after 60-70 hours (superbingo on average should be at 55 hours mark of bingo play you should earn around 30 mil from usual play by this time)
