Grand Theft Auto 6 delayed to May 26, 2026

Honestly didn't expect it to be delayed lol.

There's gonna be a MASSIVE flood of games happening in the 2nd half of the year.

This is what i said a while ago. GTAVI is not really saving the industry cause it will kill lots of games next year now lmao. Publishers are now left with a tough job.

With how impressive GTA VI looks, a huge open world game with way better looking npcs and graphic compared to V and probably more stuff on screen and more advance A.I to process compared to V. So it looks like a cross gen game with the current Xbox/PS and their next gen versions in 2027.

its not even May - This is classic rockstar. See you in Q4 2026

Fuck I just bought a PRO! - If they announce PC day one after this Im going to cry.
lol no. they'll milk this for 15+ years with spread out releases, all the way to ps7 gen, and people will triple-quadruple dip for each one

Oh well, it's year of the rpgs anyways but damn I feel like Fable will be coming out around the same time. Fingers crossed it's super early 2026.

*cough cough*

this is interesting as it pertains to GTA6, pretty sure PlayStation has some inside info and if this comes in October then GTA6 is either November or delayed to next year, that's my take anyway.

Well, calendar is clear for the holidays, wonder if devs will reschedule some releases now because after Ghost of Yōtei in October it doesn't seem like there is much coming out (obviously not including annual stuff like CoD).

It'll give you time to save up for a GPU that will run it well, they'll probably cost 5 grand by then :messenger_winking_tongue:
It will run on PS5/Series, so I'm sure my 4090 will perform well. Also, the difference between the 4090 and 5090 is ridiculous, ans I'm not sure a 6000 would be a great upgrade. And anyway I don't need savings :messenger_winking:

It's just the wait and how R* treat PC players.

Bad year for Sony then.

Maybe, maybe not.

I guess it depends on how you look at it.

Will they sell fewer units this year? Definitely, but with the tariff situation, they might not want to sell out of their stockpile (assuming they have a sizeable one) and now they won't have to raise prices in the US.

Spending a whole year cheaper than Xbox will probably at some point shift the market share in the premium console space even further to Sony.

Ghost of Yotei probably becomes the most anticipated game of the year and its chances of winning GOTY just increased dramatically.

So while they might sell fewer units, not sure I'd describe it as a bad year for them. Now all that being said, they might turn around and increase prices tomorrow or in a month, so who knows if that will be the case, but it still positions Ghost of Yotei as the major game release of the fall.

I said this few days ago

Everyone with at least 30 tps (thinking per sec) knew a delay would come at the moment the first trailer arrived.

I'm on PC, i'm not getting hyped for GTA 6 lol, there is no point, i'll play when it comes or i might not be here anyway lol

This has been rumored for over a year. No surprise.

not really
Bad to be you, I guess. I have a year full of (including backlog) KCD2, Exp33, DS2, Last Epoch s2, GoY, Split/Fiction, Borderlands 4, possibly Outer Worlds 2, Atomfall, AC Shadows, entire Switch 2 launch (I'll lend it from a friend), FBC Firebreak, Mafia: The Old Country...

And that the things I can only remember off the top of my head. Many publishers will probably reveal dates or move releases according to new date too. The only rthing I lack in 2025 is time. And money, yes.

3rd parties that were holding their titles to avoid GTA.

Edit: I wonder if Take Two knows something we don't? Maybe they are expecting one of their other games to be bigger than we think? Borderlands 4, Mafia, or NBA 2k? Maybe this is a big year for one of them?
