Grand theft auto 6 details.

One female car jacker (admittedly it was also the only pop culture example that I could think of as I was writing my post). My point still stands: violent female car jacking criminals don't really exist. Look at those police chases that America loves to watch – the driver is invariably always male.
Right and get away drivers like Ansel Elgort and Ryan Gosling don't exist either. But people still loved Baby Driver and Drive.

So? Why couldn't a female protagonist have a story then?
We're not at a place culturally where you can deliver what people expect in a GTA game with a female main character. What would she do? Some girl is going to be selling coke and beating the crap out of gangsters? I'm a girl and that sounds stupid to me. The role is better suited to a man. When people bring up women in stuff like this I feel like they're doing it just to appear progressive. Seriously imagine a GTA with a girl doing everything Trevor or Michael or Niko did. If imaging that doesn't give you serious cognitive dissonance then you have a poor idea of how a good believable story (which gta is for the most part, especially its characters recently.)

It's just not a game I want to play as a girl in. It's inconsistent with everything the game was ever about. You can bring up characters like Elizabeta and whoever else it is that who you want to be headlining your game? No, absolutely not.

Lmao. The first 2 GTA games and GTA:O barely even have a story. You could play as an alien in those games and it wouldn't make a difference. Huge difference between those games and something that's actually story and narrative driven like GTA: SA.

So? It's impossible to make a narrative around a female character?

Since when is GTA even remotely believable? Again there have been playable women in GTA before (as main protagonists even) and it affected fuck all.

Well there's your argument. And it's fine, it's your opinion and I can't argue with that, truly. But what I can argue with, are bullshit arguments. And the whole a woman wouldn't work thing is exactly that.

Who knows. Rockstars never done it before. :)

I dont care about the sex of the protagonist, and a GTA game will never be PC, thank god i cant take this pc crap anymore.

Obviously a female protag wouldn't do anything that Trevor, Michael, or Niko did. They would be doing something suitable to their role/gender/whatever. It's stupid to think that only certain types of playable characters can exist in the GTA universe. Do you think the GTA protagonist HAS to be some gangster or ex-con of some kind every time? And I noticed you didn't mention Franklin. I could easily imagine a female version of Franklin--aka a lady caught up in low level hustling who decides to go on to bigger and better things.

Besides, as I said earlier, we already can make female avatars in GTA online and it's completely believable and nobody questions it.

I hope she is a cop. And becomes dirty throughout the game.
I'm all for a game like that. Would be cool to play a game as a cop with a good / bad meter that fluctuates with decisions, and changes the way the world behaves. I would prefer it as a new IP though. GTA involves car jacking from the start and doesn't seem a good fit for that kind of game IMO.

If they started working on GTA 6 since 2013 then we could get a truly glorious game. I just wanna better car damage in general.GTA 5 has been really downgraded in that area compared to GTA 4.

Also,i guess they will have 400+ million $ as a budget for GTA 6.

Rockstar is not obliged to do a female protagonist...

i rather Dan Houser do the characters he wants then force to do characters he doesn't want in the name of "progress"

Does that include having a female protagonist? If he does choose to do that how will u know thats what he wanted?

Break into his house, sneak into his bedroom, and stand over his bed, silently watching him sleep. When from within his slumber he senses the intensity of your stare he'll awaken, and that's when you whisper, "is this really what you wanted, Dan?"

People complaining about a female protagonist are being unreasonable. Replace gender with race and there would no question it's bigoted. As with all things, it's up to the writing.

This is a stretch, but if the game takes place in Vice City, I can definitely see it having a realistic, very near-future vibe to it, almost like an American spin on Dubai.

2022 is way too far away for me to give a rats, When did GTAIV come out like 4 years ago? Get your act together RS. And Vice City? Send us somewhere we haven't been before.

Id really be surprised if they skip out on the ps4/xb1 install base. I remember reading they started working on this the second gta5 was finished

So... with a Female lead how will you have sex with the prostitutes and killing them to get your money back work now? Or will they have a change up and you can be a prostitute have sex with the dudes and then kill them for rest of their money?

I kinda want the multiple characters again.
There are male prostitutes or perhaps the lead character wont be discerning?

Going back to a single protagonist would be cool. In GTA5 I always wanted to switch to the same character instead of rotating between them.

I really hope they'll improve the mission system to make the missions less restrictive and less annoying due to mission failure screens.

If those rumors are true im not sure how i feel about this. 1.I think GTA should always have a male protagonist to choose from,at least 2 characters(male&female). 2. Release date in 2022? Hmm does that mean we're not gonna see ps5 until 2022? Or they would release it for ps5 and miss the huge playerbase of almost 150million+ on both x1/ps4? I hope those rumors are not true and that we're gonna see GTA 6 in 2019/2020 because there's a difference between selling the game for 10mil users vs 150 million.

1. Why would this have anything to do with the release of ps5? PS5 will be out 2 years before this game comes out.

2. Why the hell do you care about sales? Why would you hope it's not true so they can sell more? Are you a share holder?

They will want to hit up the install base for sure while there is 160 Million Xbox Ones and Playstation 4's in the world. As of right now, there are 0 Xbox Two and Playstation 5's. 2020 Seems like a good year to bring it.

A female character CAN be the protagonist. You lot who disagrees apparently don't know that there's a lot of known notorious women out there. I'm not a woman so I'll definitely not talk about how it feels from their perspective. But from mine I see no problem at all! It'll be badass if we had a psycho gangster lady as a protagonist.
