I swear, the GTA cover format makes anything looks awesome.

How many videogame websites will down or 404 tomorrow due to GTA V trailer?

The official website will definitely bite the dust. I'm hoping that they have the YouTube version ready to go right away.

if i'm not mistaken, didn't the gta 4 reveal trailer have problems because of everyone trying to watch it?
4 years ago is a crazy long time ago in internet times. I'll be surprised if there aren'y multiple ways to watch it in the first half hour.

If they can somehow top the last game I see a metacritic of 99 this time around. They just have to fix the few flaws GTA IV had.

Very psyched to see whats next. Hopefully they stick with the more serious tone of IV. Maybe RDR represents what they'll be doing from now on. Which is perfect.

Or it could mean RDR will be there more serious franchise while GTA would be sillier :/.

I hope there are animals in this game.

The juxtaposition would be too funny.

Like that scene in Collateral when the fox comes across the street.

1 more day. I spent so much time with GTA 4 holy shit. Played through the story multiple times, 100% the story mode, multiplayer for years. The expansions on top of that.

GTA5, blow me away. Please. Be the best, like no one ever was.

You're from another planet....made of crack. I mean, good for you and all, but, man.

Pretty much. Finding out early on you could say yes to hang out then cancel and still keep "rep" made me not hate GTAIV. Loved almost every minute of it but got really frustrated on the last mission and never finished it. Been playing through the LoTD and BoGT the past few and it's been awesome.

I just hope it gives you plenty to do. The best part about GTA games is always doing crazy shit and still feeling like you accomplished something.

GTA V on this gen makes me think next-gen consoles are at least two years away and that's being generous.

Don't we pretty much know that the consoles are going to be out in 2013? It's all but been said I think.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
When I heard that this trailer was coming, it inspired me to finally finish GTA4, which I'm currently working my way through (have slowly been picking away at it since it released). I'm excited to see what they have in store for us, but I think the mechanics of the series are beginning to wear a bit thin for me. I'll probably buy it on day one due to the hype alone, but I just really hope your character doesn't control like a tank anymore.

I really hope this is Wii U bound but somehow I doubt it.

I'd assume it would be at this point. Wii U is getting Battlefield 3 already, so they already know at least one big publisher has committed to it with a mainline game in a big way.

Take2 would be silly to let EA get there first with a Mafia 3 or somesuch.

Seriously. GTAIV feels and plays like an old, lumbering dinosaur. The main mechanics need a ton of work.
Word - I keep hearing that RDR improved it but nah, not really.

The environments were just more spacious so you didn't have to turn/use the camera as much.

I would love that. Why wouldn't it be? HD, graphics at least on par or better than the 360.

Maybe R* just doesn't think it will sell, so maybe they won't do it, but technically, there is no barrier.

I dunno. I don't really have a reason. I just got a feeling

I really hope this game will include more rural areas, like SA did, and make things more interactive. I loved 4 at release but going back to it the controls are total jank and the city itself feels kind of empty. I'm also not from NY so I didn't fully appreciate the realism of everything

Well, the GameCube almost got ports of GTA3 and Vice City. They were fully announced and then quietly cancelled. So it's not like the idea of a mainline GTA on a Nintendo console is something T2 hasn't considered.

Yeah even with mods it takes the fun out. The character move like he as cement shoes, cars feel like they are filled with water, cops continuously slap punish you for doing stuff, and so on.

Next GTA has to encourage you to do stuff, and not try to tunnel you down their scripted experience of what they want you to do. That goes for unkillable enemies until trigger B type stuff too. When you realize you wasted bullets and effort it makes you seem silly. I'd rather have random stuff happen in missions. Doing a mission over again reveal how normal vehicles are set up to try and swipe you for a challenge as you chase the enemy.

GC: Moving on a bit, and thinking again of what you're be working on post launch, was a Wii U version of Battlefield 3 ever confirmed? It was certainly heavily hinted at during E3, but we don't think EA ever came out and announced it?

Battlefield 3 producer Patrick Liu: No, I think what he [EA boss John Riccitello] said was that we're looking into what we can do with the Wii U, but there is nothing planned to be honest.

GC: Do DICE have devkits for the Wii U?

PL: Yeah, we always have all the new platforms. So, we've dabbled with it and looked what we can do with it, but there's no game planned.

Also, Mafia is developed by 2K Czech, a Take Two subsidiary.

It's been a long time since there's been a 503 error on GAF. If this doesn't cause one then it's going to take something insane.

wasnt it a big rumor before e3 that GTA5 was coming to wii u as the big hardcore gamer game reveal?

I dont see why it wont be a wii u. Probably a relativity easy port from the 360 plus I am sure Nintendo will toss money like crazy at rockstar to make sure they get the best version.

Heck I wouldnt be shocked if the Wii U version is the co marketed flagship version like the 360 was for GTA4

Nah, I just think they keep it more realistic. There is a place for zany and crazy and there is a place for more realistic.

And just because RDR was open didn't make it "hide" the "issues". It worked because it worked.

I'd like to keep Just Cause as being Just Cause and Saints Row as being Saints Row. Same goes for GTA. If you don't like the mechanics don't play it but speeding them would ruin the game IMO.

I'm not talking about refinement, it can always use that. But that "lumbering dinosaur" is what makes it work IMO.

With the troubles Ninty is having, they'd be nuts to not have GTA V on WiiU. They should money hat the port, really.

I just hope GTAV doesn't bore me to tears by the second island and make me feel like quitting. You got it right with RDR, elaborate on that!

I love the movement and controls of GTAIV/RDR. dat euphoria. Sure, it could use some 2011 tightening, but that's it.

Doorways were a bit of a pain though.

GTA V needs to have a big emphasis on gangs/factions. It's what made the previous GTAs so memorable.

Vice City especially, with the Cuban and Haitian gang war. God that was so awesome.

RDR definitely retained a lot of the jank from 4's controls. I remember getting stuck on fenceposts, houses etc. It's just weird how R* is able to make such a fun product, and yet the actual core character controls are really sloppy. I guess its part of the fun sometimes, but I would much rather have a smoothly controlling character.

Oh I forgot about how much I HATE they way these games control, so annoying constantly running in circles to get in the right position to get to cover, they better be fixed.

Random distractions, the threat of being the prey, and a lot of things to do that were interesting. Gangs that don't need to be provoked needs to be in the main game. I'm sure the DLC's had gangs that did that, right?
