Grand Theft Auto V: Announcement Trailer Nov. 2nd

Liberty City in IV was wonderfully realised, but ultimately grey and dull. I didn't hate it, but I wasn't compelled to complete it. Just thinking about the colour palates of Vice City and San Andreas and more recently Red Dead Redemption makes me salivate with nostalgia more. The juicy oranges and neon blues. I can't wait to see how V looks.

Oh and GTA IV has the best open world driving controls.

GTA V needs to have a big emphasis on gangs/factions. It's what made the previous GTAs so memorable.

Vice City especially, with the Cuban and Haitian gang war. God that was so awesome.

I loved pissing them off for fun, just to get in a battle and hopefully win. In SA the turf wars was like a battle field. I'd go in with a good strategy to win.

Trying to do missions in Haitian territory was pretty tough.

Even though I found GTA IV boring, when the game was released, the tech behind it felt amazing. The physics, the graphics...All of it was stunning. Then you got passed that and it became boring.

Hell, the most fun I had in the game was jumping out of my car at full speed and watching my face smash into on-coming traffic.

This is the same thing I said some pages back. I loved all the gangs that we in GTA III. They all had different lifestyles, cars, listened to certain music stations. Really cool stuff.

GTA V is going to be set in a fake middle east. You'll have a Dubai like financial area with all kinds of crazy buildings and fun things to do and then there will be warzone areas outside of the city that resemble hot spots in Afghanistan/Iraq. Yes, it sounds crazy but listen to that voice in the back of your head.... that one that's telling you it's true.

I WANT GTAV TO BE SET IN THE GOD DAMN FUTURE!

GTA5 needs better general on foot controls, RDR cover system or better (was too slow and clunky in 4), better bike/heli/boat controls, and the exact.same.car.controls as GTA4.

It really does. By a landslide. It's not completely realistic of course, but I just love that I have to use the brake on hard turns. I would brake into a turn, hit the hand brake to slide in, and hit the gas & be on my way, Felt great.

More euphoria goodness in GTA5 is definitely what I want. Of course, make it better.

The best thing about GTA IV was online freeroam with like 10 people. It was hilarious to be driving a car, and see like 3 other people getting chased by an army.

Trolling with the helicopter was amazing as well.

You definitely had to be prepared for the turf wars in San Andreas. Wasn't easy.

I remember my first playthrough, I took over about half of Los Santos when I did the story mission where all the shit goes down and CJ gets dropped off in the countryside of San Fierro. Pretty hilarious how Rockstar fucked you over like that.

I hope they actually show some stuff from the game and not just a teaser. I'd be furious with just a short teaser, no lie.

I just hope we don't get trolled and it ends up being a 10 second teaser with a full trailer at the VGA's or something.

Kinda expecting this. Lot of logos on the start up, a warning, then footage of the city with music. Probably won't know how it play until controlled previews under gunpoint of guards so they don't stray off course of the planned demo, and gaf week 2 impressions.

There's no way they're showing off a lot, probably something like GTA4's. City scene cuts, maybe the main character, and him talking. Stylized teaser is as much as I'm expecting. It will look pretty, and flawless.

Rockstar doesn't give a damn about the VGA's. I'd expect it to be at least as long as IV's was with some nice shots of the city and maybe the main character.

Hah yeah man, everything gone.

Most likely the trailer is just going to be like any other GTA trailer. Showing the location and the main character and probably some action within a minute-minute and a half timeframe.

I'm ok with ingame stuff and character talking with kickass music in the background like the other trailers. I just don't want a short teaser. Still excited to see where the game will be taking place; Vegas>>>DC.

I am 100% okay if they do it like this. All I need to know right now is the location and scale.

I loved GTA 4, but it really didn't have much to do after finishing the story (besides the multiplayer, which was awesome). And the whole friend system was awful. So if they take that out and add some more (good) content, this game could be amazing.

Even though I was pretty disappointed with GTAIV, I'm very excited to see this trailer.

I think Rockstar will knock this one out of the park. The hard work of creating a new engine has been done, they know of the flaws in the last one, and they've had four years.

In terms of control and movement around the world i think we should look back to the last game that R* helped with LA.Noire which in terms of control had R* fingerprints all over it. Now i liked the way you moved through that world, jumping over walls and climbing ladders and drainpipes felt natural and a bit more looser than GTA:IV.

The shooting i have no worries with RDR was leaps and bounds better than GTA:IV and controlled better too. We know that R* teams all help each other with their games people who are good at particular areas pitch in with advice and help when needed. So i'm suspecting that the gun tech that powers Max Payne 3 could see it's way into GTA:V not the bullet time stuff but the general way the character moves around the environment with the weapons.

I think R* are now comfortable enough with their engine so i expect a stunner.

I wouldnt mind a first person view for GTA 5 at all. First person view is absolutely the best view for control and shooting. A GTA game that handles like BF3? Come to papa.

SpeedingUptoStop

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*

Game needs random encounters between 2 or more gangs on the street. Like Mercenaries 2.
It'd be badass to watch that from on high, using a sniper to slowly take out chess pieces from the battlefield and just watch the AI form to the advatanges.

Speaking of gangs they have become more and more vague with each game. GTA3 you had the distinctive gangs and their unique vehicle, VC less so, and SA it was really only the los santos street gangs that stuck out. GTA4 continued that pattern, and there weren't really gangs/factions, it was a more realistic take on organized crime in that people don't stick out like sore thumbs.

I'd honestly like to see it be a bit more like GTA3 this time around.

I agree, I liked the distinct factions.

Parkour GTA sounds incredibly stupid. Sorry guys, I cannot get behind that idea at all. Go play Mirror's Edge or something. Or, there's Crackdown and Infamous. Keep that garbage out of GTA PLEASE.

It'd be funnier if it were WiiU time exclusive.

If Nintendo were smart they'd make that happen. Not like they couldn't with the stockpiles of money they undoubtedly have from the Wii.

yeah because Rockstar wants to launch their flagship title on a system with no userbase and that is a successor to the soccer mom machine.

I don't want AC-level climbing, but better climbing than IV would make the game way more fun. I always wanted to go exploring in 4 and could only do so with the use of copters and crazy landing tactics.

Better climbing sure... but for the love of god do not make it the focus of the game!

I don't want GTA ME but better on-foot, no-weapon controls would be sweet.

If you start out as a young dude with no access to weapons, running from the pigs across rooftops and in alleys would be swell.
