I reckon it would be great if the premise revolves around a male foreigner right, who comes to the US in search of 'The American Dream'..........and his trademark is...get this....jackets!

I think it would be awesome if it was based on like 3 or 4 different cities around the world. And the story takes you traveling between them. Like Tokyo, Paris, London, and Vegas. And then of course you can drive to the airport and fly to each city whenever you want. That'd be sweet as!
Hopefully by the time GTA10 comes out on the PS7/XBOX 1240 or whatever you can explore the whole world!!!

...in my dreams.
Maybe they're working on an original IP that is exactly that...

I can't believe we are 3 hours from first trailer of new GTA. I mean, people got hyped when UC3 got announced, when BF3 got announced and when Gears 3 got announced. But this...This is bigger than a game. Come the fuck on Rockstar!!!

Just keep in mind this is just a teaser trailer. We might not get gameplay details for like 6 months.

Oh God.

Location and some indication of scale is all I need. There are a lot of tiny cuts they can make that can reveal a whole lot though. A clearly-flyable plane overhead, a person walking a dog. Tiny things that result in megaton hype explosions. That's why its so fun watching people dissect the trailer, no matter how much of a teaser it is.

Incidentally though, how silent do Rockstar tend to stay after the initial trailer? Can we expect previews online/in magazines any time soon?

I hope the game engine will be all-new.

With all new controls, too. GTA IV feels almost last gen in controls, they're quite bad.

There's no correlation between engine and controls. And in Red Dead R* put a lot of fixes on that.

It won't be. But if it looks anything like RDR I'm going to cry tears of joy.

I yet have to play RDR. There is GOTY edition coming with everything so I might buy that.
I loved the game - Outlaws (it is pretty old, you propably never heard of it *aligns glasses), so this could keep me interested before GTAV.

3 hours

TBH GTA:IV wasn't that serious either. Everyone around Niko was either ludicrous or crazy.
Yea but Niko was depressed as fuck, thats why people associated it with seriousness. I would love to see anther Tommy...That guy was maniac.

I know there is no correlation. But I just don't like that engine at all, and Red Dead fixes nothing.

RDR felt really laggy to me, so did GTAIV but it was manageable if felt more intrusive in RDR. Hope I don't feel that way about GTAV. Probably my biggest worry about the game.

This engine made possibile build the most impressive city in the history of videogames. Then is used for the amazing sunset in Armadillo... what you want in this generation of console, a revolution? For this you have to wait a couple of years.

Controls are not engine related. They fixed a lot of things in how Euphoria works with the game in RDR and in Stories

Apparently, Euphoria in MP3 is fantastic, very responsive. And RAGE engine is fucking good too.

I laughed at the humour in GTAIV considerably more than the humour of the preceeding games.

Indeed, It was a very funny game. Even Niko was a pretty humorous guy, very dry sense of humour.

I imagine it's harder to write a game like that than it is to fill the game with 'wacky' silliness.

I hope it's a trailer that actually reveals something, not one of those trailers that doesn't reveal much, and since they set up a countdown, and made it very anticipated, then it better be special.

R* always delivers.

All of their reveal trailers have shown us plenty of stuff.

The big problem I had is that when the made the main story story so grim and overly serious in places, it makes the humor they always add around the main story to seem out of place. Niko would be brooding about his life with someone and bam, the GTA over-the-top commercial comes on the radio. It made the whole thing seem inconsistant in places.

I thought so as well. The radio talk stations were hilarious as were the commercials and don't forget the TV shows.

Do Want:

- Variety of vehicles (planes, scooters, rocket packs, roadbikes, wave runners, parachutes)
- More likable character (no emo depressed run-of-the-mill anti-hero)
- Better animation. When i mean better, i mean i dont have to wait for the animation to finish to climb over a fence before i can start running again.
- Better driving mechanic. GTA4's cars were no fun. at all. for a game called Grand Theft Auto, it should be.
- Property. Being able to own your own mansions and cars was awesome. Bring that back R*.

DO NOT WANT:

- Cellphones. Unless you can only make outgoing calls, and get mission based calls. Having friends bother you was annoying and pointless.
- Unusable areas. Hey look at this cool Prison that we can't break into or out of, or this awesome Coney island like Carnival that we can't use at all! (Granted, i only played vanilla GTA4)
- Automatic maxed out wanted level whenever you go to another island. Every single GTA starts that same, with the bridges being out or there being some terrorist threat that stops you from seeing its entirety. The world should be unlocked at the beginning.

A realistic but hilarious commercial(like for Burger Shot, for instance) fit right in for me.
