GTAIV bored me, and I've got Saints Row 3 coming to satisfy my open world itch. I really hope GTA V is something special.

Chinner, pal, if you could pull off wearing a hat made of money like I can, you'd also be doing it.
look chinner, i really like your posts and everything but i got to disagree with your previous statement strongly. Shenmue had a brilliant established world because you could go into any building, talk to anybody and interact with the enviroment. People had like routines and they'd act differently depending on the enviroment and shit. GTA IV is basically the same as GTA 3 in terms of world estabilshment. Nothing has progressed and to me at least the world of GTA is just a glorified playground to allow the player to run over people.

if youd ask me what was the next most convincing enviroment, i'd probably say dead rising.

Day 1 release on PC. PLEASE.

I don't want to suffer the shitty framerate I did on consoles before 4 came out on PC.
What about the shitty framerate most people suffered when 4 did come out for PC?

The tone of GTAIV didnt bother me, the only problem i had was the way it controlled, so unresponsive and slooooow, it felt overly mo-capped but i could be talking out of my ass with that theory... Whatever it was i hated it, i prefer snappy controls even if that makes the character animation look silly at times. I think Uncharted is a good example of a game that finds the right balance.

chubigans

y'all should be ashamed
If it's anything like IV, count me out. :p

And I know I can't depend on the story being worth a damn, given that GTAIV, Red Dead and LA Noire all suffered from story problems towards the end. :(

Great news, though the Teaser won't show us anything.

I'm guessing this will be a Fall 2012 release.

Any hope for Spring?

For this to be on the next generation of consoles it would have to be late 2013. How far in advance was the GTA IV announcement trailer? I'm guessing late 2012.

Yep. Excited to see what they do, but will be much more cautious after IV.

If it's a U.S setting again i'll be disappointed. There's so many amazing places they could use, U.S is good and all just kinda boring now. I'd like to see them change things up, imagine a GTA set in a fantasy blade runner type universe, now that would be sweet. But yeah, somewhere different would be amazing.

GTAV will be slated for November 2012 and will be delayed until around April 2013...making the Xbox Loop version 5-7 months later. :D

(Rockstar commercial starts)

Would you rather:

Blaze through traffic ignoring sop signs and red lights at no consequence?

Or be held accountable for your actions of ignoring such traffic control devices? That's right, we're taking it up a notch from slowing down at toll booths, we heard your cry for more traffic simulation.

Would you rather:

Instantly jack cars, jumping through windows like a fool?

Or experience the highly tense moments of risking getting shot as you convince the car owner to give up their ride? We have created a new car jack system that makes every jack a tense showdown. These face offs can last from 1 to 5 minutes.

Would you rather:

Store countless cars in a virtual garage accessible by phone and all of your houses?

Or be immersed in having limited parking space in the hustle and bustle world of Liberty City? We have added a stolen car system. You may have experienced disappearing cars in GTAIV and thought it was a glitch. Now your car navigation system will alert you that your car is being stolen. Ahh technology.

I have went back to GTAIV giving it another shot, after quitting it a loong time ago before experiencing that other game. Now I'm able to mod it as I wait on the new version of that other game to appear. I have given this game so many chances, read gaffer's plea that people are over reacting, and that it's just that we expected too much. After 2 days of mod messing around it's still held down by GTAIV's realism. Everything is so heavy, Niko's movements are so slow, the whole game seem to be designed on holding you back. Coming from that other game, it's just so annoying.

This trailer won't be able to win me over on promise alone, and it better be about some limber fast running parka Irish guy or something. Good luck Rockstar, hope you don't go realistic again.

Please Rockstar, come back home. I'm willing to forgive, but I'm waiting a month at the least to buy. Fool me once, and you can't get fooled again.

Maybe spring 2013

You think they'd release a teaser trailer a year-and-a-half before the game releases?

I realize that Rockstar has stuck with the late-Spring release dates for their games this gen, but this is the Housers we're talking about.
