This thread is moving really fast. Wow.
Well, it's the next main GTA. It's obvious.

I love GTA IV, Played it more than any game this gen.. The online free mode is just crazy stuff.

I was going to buy saints row 3 but i'l just wait for this trailer now.
Wat?

Yes, it was 1/3 (if even) of the world, not the entire world.
And... how does that make you case for you?

Did you play SA? Did you notice the giant city out in the desert that is modelled off Vegas? Las Venturas? It had all sorts of cool shit around it.

yeah but would that alone be enough for a game of this size?

I'm betting my FIVE BUCKS on the game being set in Los Santos.

If they add a co-op element in this one, please add some record/replay feature. So many awesome moments in GTA4 during co-op and no way to show them off.

Other than that, don't make it like GTA4.

So hyped!! Hell yeah, I loved GTA IV and all R* games. Love what these guys put out.

For some reason, I got this feeling that GTA V will be breaking bad influenced. Instead of a criminal trying to be better, it will be a good man breaking bad.

Calling it now.

I thought Liberty City again would be boring again in IV. Turned out it was the best game environment ever made, and still is to this day.

So it can be Vice City, San Andreas, or wherever else. I don't really care. Rockstar have my complete faith.

Rockstar, how I love thee entirely! I'm with you- wherever they go, it shall be undeniably spectacular!

I'm going to be so disappointed if it ends up being Vegas. I wish GTA would tackle a European or Asian city.

Terribly though for voice over immersion and credibility if they all still speak english and killer feature if they don't speak english for the US market. I wish though... I really wish.

Take my money now. Loved the last one and for 60$ I got over 60 hours worth of game play. Some reason I can't play a rockstar open world game and NOT get the 100% achievement. Did the same thing with RDR.

There is a huge difference between a quarter of a city in an open world game modeled after Vegas and using Vegas as the entire setting.

No chance in hell it is.
I disagree, there's every chance.

Here's the dates from reveal trailer to initial release date (the first three were delayed):
GTA4: Mar 07 - Oct 07
RDR: Feb 09 - Oct 10
LAN: Nov 10 - Q2 11
MP3: Sep 11- March 12

Rockstar's marketing have a history of rolling out six to eight months before release. Assuming that hasn't changed, and GTA5 isn't delayed, it could be a summer release, and WiiU could be later.

And that fact that in 2012, it would've been 4 years between GTAIV and V

There's a reason 3 of them were delayed.

Awesome. Liked GTAIV and TLaD, and loved TBoGT. Had quite a few complaints with vanilla GTAIV but still thought it was a fun game, but TBoGT was just awesome.

Kind of hoping we get a map the same size as IV except with more variety. Think San Andreas, except less drastic (I'm picturing suburban, industrial, plains/farmland, and a forest).

Make it like VC or I don't give a fuck.
This right here, in the long run.

GTA IV got delayed and release in April 2008. First GTA since GTA III to not release for holidays season.

edit : I miss the part you talked about this, sorry

When keepin it real goes wrong. Very, very wrong.
am i the only person who makes up story's in there head while playing gta games..

I'm a hitman cruising along looking for my target. I lift my chrome from my belt and unleash a few slugs bang bang, i speed of and ditch my car.

Fuck i loved the story's i made up in my head while playing GTA3,VC,SA,GTA IV.

GTA IV was great, i used to play tag with people online, we would spend hours just chasing each other few big industrial areas ect..

I'm so hyped

Nov.2nd is also Sony's earnings call! OH SHIT EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT INCOMING! j/k

I really hope Rockstar gets this right.
GTA IV "realistic" thing just didn't work... It wasn't GTA

Saints Row: The Third looks so much fun, more than any GTA title ever

I suppose the opinions on that are divided. I actually liked the somewhat serious tone in GTA IV and thankfully, it still maintained its iconic satire. It was a nice change of pace and Saints Row filled the hiliarously silly gap. I actually thought San Andreas went a little overboard with things like the secret army base, especially since the beginning of the game felt almost sincere. EDIT: To be clear, I absolutely loved San Andreas.

No worries here, Rockstar hasn't dissappointed me in a looong time.

You play as a Mexican who comes to America to live the American dream, it is symbolised by the cash pattern behind the 5. At first you don't want no trouble but you end up meeting some cats involved in crime that offer you money for relatively simple, not overly violent tasks. However over time you end up killing for money, and become increasingly wealthy. The game ends with you turning your back on the lifestyle.

Ah, nostradamus-GAF. People making random guesses/assumptions about a trailer in a shotgun like effect trying to cover all possibilities.

Why? so that they can return months later to post the colbert I called it gif.

A true treasure indeed.

If they don't hire the guy that made that Ice Enhancer mod to work on this game I might cry.I don't see it looking better than than the Ice enhancer mod, which is a shame cause that mod set the bar too hire for current gen consoles to catch. Then again the guy that made the mod will probably do the same with GTA 5.So I guess its only a matter of time, I hope they go back to the 80,s.

While looking at the logo with dollar references I know that I'd kill for some Washington-Baltimore action.

It'll be San Andreas but only in Los Santos (The LA city)

you heard it here first

Liberty City IV had nothing to do with Liberty City III. So why not, even if I would prefer to go for something more original

I hope it's ghetto fabulous taking even more queues from Menace II Society, Boyz N The Hood, and Training Day than SA even did.

It could even be a prequel to SA. SA was awesome for the first 1/4 of the game / last 1/8 of the game for the record.

There are many reasons, and GTA5 could be, and it could just as easily not be. GTA5 has had about the same amount of time as GTA4 had, and it was the first of the generation.

GTA IV is the only one I ever completed. I really liked the game, just wish the mechanics were more refined. I absolutely LOVED how the guns felt and sounded. The shotgun was amazing.

What? Everyone hates GTA IV. People who hate ALL open world games are a bit damaged though. Absolute statements are awesome.

Not sure how excited I am for this if it takes place in the US again. But I'm sure the hype will get to me, eventually. It always does.

guys

the V is clearly meant to be like a dollar. will be financially related and therefore probably around recent/current times

Rockstar love to (as we have seen with the 2 IV expansions) have satire of real world politics and happenings of the day in their games and the GFC is ripe for the picking in a GTA game.
