I definitely agree with your sentiment- to me the city is the true main character. These worlds feel authentic, lived in, and unique. It's about the city's glimmer! The architectural design of buildings, the bridges, the terrain- speak more for the beauty of each GTA release than anything else for me.
I'm going to spend hours in game finding my favorite vista points, to serenely pass time. Staring at the city from the mountain tops, or lost in the middle of the ocean watching the city lights glitter on the waterfront.

Hmm. Locked at 30 or constant dips down to 20-15 like GTA4? Red Dead was my favourite open world game by Rockstar due in no small part to the fact that it never shit the bed on framerate.

It's a hell of a lot easier to take potshots at relatively niche Japanese games than the notoriously punitive behemoth that is Rockstar. I would be stunned if anyone even mentions misogyny, let alone have it impact the score in any way.
