Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

From his interview with Variety it seems the game are far in development to the point that he want to share and show much more from it, I remember on one interview year's ago he stated that one of their mistakes is showing games when they're aren't ready to be shown and spent long times to develop demos for showcases only and he say he will change that on future projects so by link all together and hus talk about intergalactic on last interviews it's seems that game is very ready to be shown hopefully along gameplay trailer at s.o.p to show a clear image about game visuals
well, he said last year we cant wait to show you more. it's been almost a year since then.

i dont trust the fucker.

Yes that is true as well 😔 by the way what's your opinion about those specs
can it handle 4k60 with path tracing?

2-3x in raster is awful. that puts it at 25-30 tflops. i was expecting at least 40-50.

Ray tracing performance gives me hope. But remember, they said ps5 pro was 2-4x faster with ray tracing but in the end its basically bottleneck by the 45% gpu increase.

its a very weak console. 160 watts is laughable. clearly cheap bullshit. will probably charge $700 for it as well.

😔Then hopefully they improve those specs before start actual manufacturing,

yeah, probably too early to be worried about this stuff. like i said before, the 2018 ps5 chip was only 8 tflops. they got it up to 9 tflops in 2019 then 10+ in 2020.

so if its 25-30 tflops today then they might just be testing what AMD has today. 160 watts honestly doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

That's true we should wait although can't believe that we reached this point when we talk about next gen consoles while we didn't got other than very few games that shows full potential of this generation 😔

Fanmade project on UE5.5 this what yotei should look like

Nah the vegetation density is certainly not something a ps5 system can handle, especially with map scale like this. Maybe if the game is made by 3rd studios they'd gave ppl the option to bump up the limit for beefy high end pc, even that's the case they ain't gonna be able to match asset quality to this level, more like staying within a 6/10 slider position at best

"sucker punch, hire this man"
It's not about hiring talent like the one who made this fanmade project, but they have top tier artists which anymore of them can make graphics like this fanmade project using UE5, it's more about graphics programmers and them upgrading their dated inhouse engine

Resident Evil: Requiem.

Definitely the most detailed a RE game has been, if not the best in the industry.

Looks so different from any previous RE games, a lot more Fincher than typical Capcom.

The best thing about BL4s graphics are definitely the lighting

yeah, i just got farther into the game and its really beautiful. i love the haze. it reminds me of starfield. another game that used haze to give off volumetric lighting effects. it adds this really nice glow to the levels that makes them feel more alive instead of just painted on textures.

asset quality is fairly decent too. nothing mind blowing but fairly competent. dont care for the ground level detail though. tbh, i dont care for the whole borderlands aesthetic. i wish they just ditch the whole shaded look. the guns are the real show here. the series will survive without these cell shaded graphics.

Real developers on Switch 2 who dont spend all day jerking off to hentai porn:

That was the weakest part of MP4 in that trailer. Tbf, it's still a Switch game, and that's probably the best they could do to push 60 fps on the overworld part on the Switch system. Even an exclusive game on PS5 is not far from that.

The other sections, on the other hand, look great.

2 things:

Bl4 look a bit turdish but as usual, it run much better than ue5 hater would make you think, a couple of settings on normal and then mostly ultra, dlls quality, framegen and i get around 90 to 100 frames in 4k.
Some stutter here and there, nothing that remotely make the gameplay worse.

Those re9 screen are actually pretty good, did re engine finally got a nextgen glowup?

It runs okay on the High preset. Doesn't look amazing though.

Feels like it's the same story with every UE5 game:

10/10 performance requirements for 8/10 visuals.

Metroid desert actually looks better than fedex 2.

Very likely. but 4 years is a long time. cory took 4 years to redesign and reboot gow. i get that games take longer to make nowadays, but i wouldve still expected a long 10 minute trailer by now. it's now been almost five and a half years since tlou2 came out. i dont expect the game to release today, just a long trailer.

remember bruce was there for uncharted 4, tlou1 and uncharted 2. with TLOU2, he was the sole director in charge. in the interview, he says he's delegated his duties to four different directors but he literally didnt have the lead character mode hired until last year so i highly doubt they were doing much in his absence. or they wouldve had a gameplay trailer ready for last year.
New IP's with 200+million budgets are going to take roughly 6 years to develop nowadays. You act like Naughty Dog was just sitting on their ass for the last 5 years. Druckmann already acknowledged that 250 people have been working on Intergalactic since 2020. Druckmann really only needs to be their full time for the directing of the game when it reaches full-production.

You say we should be seeing a lot more footage. Sony has drastically changed the marketing of their games compared to the PS4 generation. Look at Yotei, Playstation announced and released it in a 10 month time frame. The only reason Intergalactic was announced early was because Druckmann wanted people to stop harassing the studio about what they are working on

I believe it is a really good sign Druckmann is giving interviews about the game. It makes me think he is confident in how it is coming along

yeah its interesting, but you can downport anything. i have zero issues with that.

after all, they downported witcher 3, hellblade 1, and batman ak to the switch 1. Something like cyberpunk that was basically designed for 10 tfllops GPUs was also downported to last gen consoles.

Switch 2 is actually twice as powerful as the ps4 on top of having rt capabilities so im not even surprised that it runs on it. as for ps4, i bet it will look like shit just like cyberpunk.

i took some screenshots of those switch ports back when they came out. it was hilarious.

They didn't let low powerful ports hold down them upgrading their tech like sony studios with cross gen titles and they even implement high quality path tracing tech into their engine

that ps5 exclusive game is essentially a ps4 game running at native 4k. thats probably why it doesnt look far from that. though the rocks are exceptionally atrocious in MP. lighting makes it come close.

lol. these posts pop up every few weeks dont they? Yes, they appear equally excellent.

Unreal engine does have some things that are a bit unique to their shaders by default that does give their realistic lighting a cetain look. less a problem in sup stylized games

also ofcourse some things aboud their post processing stack that just makes UE5 game have more similar between their games regardless tone or setting.
