GRAVITY Trailer

I need more info. If it's just Sandra Bullock drifting for 90 minutes, no thanks. I can barely stand her to begin with.

It's the space version of Buried, but instead of bone headed CIA cop you get bone headed female cop (in space).

edit: even the running times are the same.

I saw this trailer before Pacific Rim (the day Pacific Rim came out)

was pretty impressive, but like I said I don't know they can get a movie's worth of material out of this.

That seems like kind of a positive to me. Unlike pretty much every other trailer nowadays, after watching these I seriously don't know what the fuck is gonna actually happen in this movie and that only makes me more excited for it. I just don't understand where the story could possibly go but that's why I need to see it.

I missed Children of Men in theaters, didn't see it until recently and now i'm fully hyped for this one

It's a positive only if the movie ends up being amazing.

Call me crazy, but I have a gut feeling this movie will be nowhere as good as Children of Men.

Boyle's schizophrenic style really ruined 127 Hours because it dissolved the scenes of any tension and claustrophobia so I'm really glad to hear that in Gravity there's
no flashbacks
or anything like that.

Expendable, I have a question:
do we know if this is in real time?
I would suspect so, but just want to make sure. I can't imagine doing a movie like this without it.

On initial release, that is. Besides maybe Before Midnight, I can't think of a recent truly great film that has been universally accepted by the vast, vast majority of critics. All the great works usually take time to become accepted and I can't imagine Gravity will be a pleasant, easygoing experience.

I didn't expect so much indifference or hate for these trailers. The "Detached" one is absolutely spectacular. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a trailer. Goosebumps all over.

It's a shame I didn't saw this in theaters before another movie, would've been even more amazing.

It's the Michael Bay generation.

I have such mixed feelings about this.

I've been looking forward to this Cuaron movie for years. I despise Sandra Bullock with every fiber of my being.

This movie may just be Sandra Bullock suffering for 90 minutes. I can't decide if that's terrible or fantastic.

What. Cuaron said that there are no flashbacks or anything. The fuck? We're just looking at Sandra the whole time? This movie man...

He is in maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the movie then it is Sandra for the rest. It is also definitely not her drifting in space for 90 minutes. There are more 'set pieces' so to speak.

She drift to a different orbit and get rescued by the Chinese space lab? haha

I won't be watching anything else, or rewatching these clips, from now on because I feel like too much has been given away already. But man does it look good.

That last clip is so good, as are all 3. Bring on October 4th!

Also, for those worried about spoilers, pretty sure this is all in the first 17-minute long take in the film. But yeah, done after these.

Is this supposed to be a comedy?

The bumbling around and the amount of things going wrong just sort of makes it look like a comedy of errors. I love Cuaron, but... I don't know. I'm not feeling this at all from the trailers. It's a shame, I love the premise.

Same here. After seeing Children of Men in theaters, I don't think he will be able to match that type of experience or intensity. Certainly not with Sandra Bullock lol

Same, i'm not feeling this at all.
I'm actually very surprised at all the good reception is getting here.

I also agree with him, though we have to see it in the context of the movie.

I don't know, it seemed like a fairly realistic portrayl of it to me. No gravity. No way to stop yourself. Clunky-clumsy suits. Getting yourself safe after shit goes wrong can't be easy. (though her foot getting caught in the rope was a bit much)

What part of that seemed like a farce?

The whole thing feels very choreographed. Now, duh, of course it is choreographed, but it feels very, very contrived. They smack into things/each other in some pretty ludicrous ways, and with the kind of goofy looking flailing (I don't really care if it's "realistic" or not; it looks funny) around, the whole thing just feels very slapstick.

The actor faces composed into the presumably CGI astronaut suits really don't help either. The whole thing looks comedic.

I was bored out of my mind by Open Water and i feel this has been miscast, so not expecting too much. Children of Men was all about the set pieces as well, but there was a journey and production design that kept them together. No idea if this wil have that. All the clips make me want it to be theme park ride that hold you in zero g for a few minutes.

This recent slate of sci fi films from bug directors in the last couple of years has been disappointing so far, so i try to not get hyped up by this or Elysium.
