GRAVITY Trailer

Well that's certainly an interesting way of showing a trailer. I remember when people laughed at the trailer in my theatre, but after Children of Men, I'm watching this in IMAX.

Cuaron said that to make the trailer more exciting, the studio added sound effects and explosion noises to the first trailer, but that there will be no outside sound in the actual film since obviously there's no sound in space. I can only imagine the same applies for this trailer.

Awesome. More movies in space need to cut sound when in the vacuum (not movies like Star Wars and whatnot though). The only other time I remember this is in the few seconds in Akira when Tetsuo is destroying the satellite. Thought it was awesome they did that, so this probably has me most excited for Gravity. I can't wait for all the whining/pissing/moaning over it once the movie is out though.

I need more info. If it's just Sandra Bullock drifting for 90 minutes, no thanks. I can barely stand her to begin with.

Yeah, every time the first trailer played before a movie I was at, the theater erupted in laughter and people were shouting things like "worst.trailer.ever" a few times.

This trailer's a little better, and looking forward to the movie, but the marketing sucks on this unfortunately.

I loved Children of Men, but these trailers have too much cgi eww

I had the same problem with Life of Pi and watching the trailers on my computer screen. But in theater it was flawless. I think Gravity CGI looks great though and I hope it gets better in the theater.

I read the original screenplay around 2 years ago. Written by Cuaron and his son.

It's not particularly profound. But it is breathtaking. More akin to a roller coaster.

An early (test-screening) review put it best: "It’s about people today not knowing why they should be excited about living but only knowing they don’t want to die."

It was just announced as a Special Presentation for the Toronto International Film Festival. I am certainly going. There should be a NeoGAF meet!

Had the same happen to me. Watching the Gravity trailer in the theater was a completely different experience. Felt so much more real.

Yeah, a pulse :p

Hey now, i said this was my most anticipated movie, and the premise is genius.
The trailers look so unusually bombastic though, when i kind of expected more of a 2001 sensibility.
I guess that's my gold standard when it comes to depicting space.

She's already dead, right? I'm predicting she totally die burning up in the atmosphere.

So is Clooney's character only in this in the beginning? Most of the media seems to focus only on Sandra's character.

This is the best thing about The Passage, btw, if anyone's looking for some Summer Reading.

;D

Absolutely loving the long takes and the cinematography in the two most recent pieces of footage. The drifting clip uses the long take and the rotating camera to really drive home that feeling of dizzying fear. It'll be very interesting to see how well the movie conveys that feeling through visuals and not loud explosive sound.

I didn't expect so much indifference or hate for these trailers. The "Detached" one is absolutely spectacular. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a trailer. Goosebumps all over.

It's a shame I didn't saw this in theaters before another movie, would've been even more amazing.
